Before Ayaan's drunken brain could register the words written in the letter Shona had caught Ayaan's wrist and pulled the sheet of paper away from him. Ayaan frowned in confusion while Shona was glaring at Ayaan.

Shona couldn't pinpoint what was it but Shona found it as if she was comfortable around Ayaan even though he was a total stranger to her. Maybe it was because of the similarity he possessed with Karthik yet Shona could feel they were way different. Ayaan hadn't muttered more than a few words around her in the past few weeks where-else Karthik had shared enough history with her in the same time span.

She was aware that Karthik was an orphan having just a brother figure. Karthik was never interested in talking about his brother indirectly indicating to Shona that they weren't close to each other. Karthik mostly spoke about his social life.

"You can't read someone's personal letter?" Shona scolded making Ayaan stare at her in adoration. "Those are addressed to my soulmate."

Ayaan couldn't help but smile at her naïve self. Shona was taken aback by his mesmerizing smile. She had never seen him smile before, he always wore a scowl as if he dreaded to live. Shona had concluded that he hate his life.

"And may I know when are you planning to post him those?" He eyed the paper in her hand. "He would love to read those."

Shona stared at him with suspiciousness. "Are you by any chance mocking me?"

He chuckled making Shona's heart accelerate at the highest speed. "Why would I mock you, kiddo?" He pinched her cheek making a blush cover her cheek. "I just spoke the truth. Anyone would love to read those..." he eyed again at the paper in her hand.

"Have you read previous ones?" She sounded nervous as well as slightly annoyed.

"Yes, I did and just to clear your misconceptions. Your blabbers aren't annoying they always lit my day. They bring a smile to my face when I am having a rough day. You bring peace to my otherwise chores-filled life."

Shona wasn't able to believe a word uttered by him as she had concluded that she was the most boring person, she bothered others with her talks and she was better left silent as none were interested in listening to her so Ayaan's words didn't make sense to her.
