"You know there is no harm in smiling," Suhana muttered, making Ayaan groan louder.

He massaged his forehead with his fingertips. "She is having a conception that you have a feeling for me." There was a minute of silence as Ayaan raised his exhausted orbs to glance at the bewildered Suhana.

"I knew it... it was her imagination." Ayaan concluded, Suhana kept her lip tight. Her brain was blank and panic was emerging in her heart. She couldn't let Ayaan know about her feeling if he got the slightest hint, she was aware that she would lose him. She had no problem staying with him as a friend rather than losing him forever.

"How did... you..." she stammered with her words; she was finding it hard to manage her nervousness. To hide that Ayaan was a hint away from discovering the truth, her truth. The truth that she had kept hidden from him for years.

"She had mentioned it in her letters," Ayaan scowled, he was confused by his actions. It wasn't the first time someone had mis-interrupted their bond. Usually, Suhana was teased for having a handsome, hot friend. And Ayaan was never bothered about people's views of them. He was judged, mis-interrupted so another misconception wasn't anything new but his reaction was troubling him. Why was he so affected by Shona's views that he forced himself to meet Suhana?

Ayaan raised his head not receiving any sarcastic response from Suhana. He frowned on finding Suhana lost in her world. "Suhana!" His call startled her as if she was lost in her fantasy world.

"Why would she say something like that?" Suhana was able to bring only those words out. "Will you mind if I read those letters?" She eyed the paper scattered on his desk. The files were put in one corner while most of the space was occupied by those letters.

Suhana was shocked on receiving a call from Ayaan during his office hour. For a minute she was convinced that Shona's health had worsened or Ayaan never traded his office hour for anything important. Nothing was more important than his work. It was the main reason behind the difference between the two brothers.

Karthik was never into business, he opted to waste his time on wasting money, drinking, smoking, and clubbing. Ayaan spent his time in business. Both choose a way to keep themselves busy so they won't have to deal with the pain hidden behind their arrogant, cruel faces.

Suhana sighed as Ayaan kept staring at those letters, uncertain whether he wanted to share them with someone or not. "Why was she hiding those letters from you?"

"Because she wanted to keep this entire plan hidden from me." His annoyance was visible in his tone.

"You don't like our names linked with one another." Suhana had a smile but Ayaan was engrossed with his confusing feeling to glance at the pain hidden in her orbs. Her heart ached at the thought of Ayaan being disgusted with the thought of them together.

"That's what troubling me." He shook his head, deciding to glance at Suhana. "Why am I bothered?"

"Because you care," she muttered softly. "Entire your life, you never cared about anyone's opinion of you. But now her opinions matter because she matters..." Ayaan stared at her, his brain opting to ignore her words but something deep within him couldn't deny her words.
