The staff's eyes had widened on glancing at the owner of the mansion. He couldn't believe his eyes. He had heard lots of rumors that how cruel Ayaan was. None had seen Ayaan's lip turning upward in a smile. For a minute, he was convinced that his eyes were playing tricks on him.

"You're dismissed," Ayaan waved the staff off. The staff was brought back to the present as he bowed his head in respect and rushed out of the room, fully convinced that there was something wrong with his orbs.

Ayaan stared at the piece of the letter for a minute longer. His hand reached the place where something was beating hard with excitement. It seemed years since he had felt something like that, his fingertip could sense his heart beating. And maybe after years he realized he was still alive, he wasn't a dead soul.

A fear engulfed his spirit at the thought of being alive. Death was far better than being alive, alive meant pain and he was done with pain. His orbs glanced at the words mentioned in those letters. Why his heart took a leap when she mentioned that she missed him? Why was he overjoyed with the fact that she loved when he read those letters?

When she had accused him of stealing her letters, he had felt rejected. He felt as if she wanted to push him away and he had walked away from her, afraid of rejection, afraid of feeling that pain again.

Once again when she started hiding the letters, he had gone through the same feeling but his craving was greater than the fear that had forced him to steal letters from her room. He had asked one of his staff to get those letters for him while cleaning her room. Ayaan was aware that Shona would be upset with her disappearing letters but he was left with no choice, he was addicted to those letters. It provided him with peace that he wasn't aware existed.
