Ayaan was walking in the hallway after wasting hours drowning in alcohol. His feet were no longer supporting him. He was stumbling as he took each step inside. He was going to drop on the stair when a tiny arm reached for the support.

"Are you fine?" She sounded concerned, making Ayaan's heart accelerate at the maximum speed. He stared at her for a minute longer, a smile popping on his face.

"You..." he muttered softly. Shona frowned at his changed behavior. From the moment she had started leaving under the same roof with him, he had constantly avoided her. He had acted as if she was invisible. She was mostly invisible for people surrounding her, she had gotten used to it but when he ignored her, it ached her heart. The feeling of rejection showered her, he was the one to made her feel worthy but the minute he started avoiding her that feeling of unworthiness overpowered her.

He stumbled on his feet as he attempted to reach to touch her cheek and as Shona wasn't strong to hold his weight, they both were knocked down on the floor. Shona groaned as her back hit the hard flooring while Ayaan pushed her hairs away that was blocking his view.

"Beautiful..." he muttered as he softly caressed her cheek. A blush covered Shona's face on receiving the compliment.

"Sir... do you need help?" Staff called out, forcing Shona to stare away from Ayaan's mesmerizing orbs. She had never felt so adored under someone's gaze, her heart had a tiny dance at the anticipation of someone staring at him with so much love.

Love? She shook her head, how she could allow her brain to have such a thought?

"No!" Ayaan groaned, "I can help myself..." he seems pissed with the interruption.

The staff bowed his head offering a last concerned glance at Shona before disappearing into the corner. The staff was having pity on Shona as the bulky figure was crushing on her. There was a certain charm in the girl. Her innocence and her naivety attracted the people surrounding her. They compelled the people around her to be the protective shield that she was in need of.

"Why do these people keep roaming around you?" Ayaan groaned in annoyance. He hardly had seen her alone in the lavish mansion. "You said... you had a hard time making friends and over here you have so many admirers." It came in a harsh manner making Shona stare at Ayaan for a minute longer. Was he mad at her for talking to his staff?

"I don't make friends easily," she confessed lowering her head. "It just that... weirdly this feels like home. The people around me are so friendly, they never stared at me with those judging gazes. Always bowing down in respect as if I am some princess," she giggled softly at that thought and Ayaan's heart missed a beat at her melodious voice. "They treat me normal... as if there isn't anything wrong with me and it feels special." Her orbs raised to glance at Ayaan's admiring ones.

"You should be treated like that and you will be..." he promised their eyes not breaking the eye contact.
