(Adam's POV)

I woke up and felt my arms around a familiar figure. I smiled to myself and pulled Alexis closer. It felt so perfect, everything about the moment was perfect. I felt Alexis move around a little before she lifted her head and ran a hand through her hair. "Good morning sunshine" I said. Alexis smiles and groaned "Morning" I laughed a little as a strand of hair fell in front of her face. I slowly tucked the strand behind her ear and touched the side of her face gently like she was made of glass. So precious and beautiful. Alexis put her hand over mine and tilted her head to the side while looking at me. Her eyes were so mesmerizing. I could get completely lost in them and never want to be found. I leaned down and kissed the top of her head softly, I could have stayed that way forever wit her in my arms.

Since both of us didn't have anything to do until the next day, we wasted time by watching a few movies. We then went to my house and Alexis brought her things for the next day wince she had decided to sleep over at my place. We ordered a pizza and played video games until Alexis got tired of beating me. I hadn't known she could play so well, even though I knew her more than anybody. I then pulled Alexis onto the couch and wrapped my arms around her as the vibrant lights from the television lit up her face. Before I knew it, she was asleep. So I kissed her head, whispered a few words from the heart and sleep came over me.

  *The Next Morning*

When I opened my eyes the following morning, Alexis was no longer laying in my arms. I sat up and stretched then walked upstairs to my bathroom. As soon as I had reached the top, the hallway filled with the sound of water and Coldplay lyrics. Alexis was in the shower, so I decided to read more of 'Playlist for the Dead' which I had started a month prior. Yes, I was a slow reader but only because I had to go over a page twice to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

About twenty minutes or so later, I heard the bathroom door unlock so I sat up and watched as Alexis walked out in a breathtaking outfit as always. She was wearing black jean shorts, a black band T-shirt, blue converse shoes and a miniature backpack. Her hair was up in a messy bun and she had some eyeliner on that made her eyes look even more grey than usual. "Do you like it?" Alexis asked in a small voice. I shook my head. "You dont?" she asked a bit pained. I quickly got up and walked towards her, pulling her into a kiss. When I pulled away, I put my hand on hers and whispered "I love it sweetheart" A huge smile spread across her face as she kissed my nose and said "Thanks honey" I then quickly got dressed in my swimming trunks and a 'Greenday' shirt. I then grabbed extra clothes and put them into a backpack. Alexis and I then went back to her house and her mother drove us to the six flags water park.

Once we had arrived, parked, and gotten out of the car, Alexis' mother was already walking up to another woman while saying "Amy!" The woman turned around and smiled. She had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. She wore a green sundress and carried a beach bag. "Grace!" Amy replied happily. The two women hugged and when aunt Grace pulled away she introduced us. "This is my daughter Alexis" She said motioning to Alexis "And this is her best friend Adam" she continued nodding towards me. Amy shook both of our hands before moving aside to introduce her own children. "Samantha! Dean! Quinn! Come meet Grace and her kids" Three kids around our age stepped out from the small Toyota behind Amy. "This is Samantha, she's sixteen and loves to be antisocial" Amy said while motioning to the blonde haired, brown eyed girl. Samantha smiled a little and said "Nice to meet you". "This is Quinn, my eldest. Who is eighteen and loves the drums" Amy stated while patting the boys shoulder. He was a couple of inches taller than me and more built. He had dark brown hair, almost black, and hazel green eyes. Amy continued "He has his fathers features" Quinn smiled and buried his hands into his pockets while nodding hello. Amy looked around then turned to ask Samantha "Where's Dean?"

"He's in the backseat listening to music" Samantha replied as Amy opened the car door and practically dragged a boy version of Samantha out, the same eyes and hair but his face was more sharp looking. "This is Dean. Sam's twin brother who thinks he's too cool to be here" Amy said as she let go of Dean. He said hello to each of us but when he saw Alexis he smiled and looked at her from head to toe. I grabbed Alexis' hand and glared at him. I had a feeling Dean was going to be trouble. "Well let's get to having fun!" Aunt Grace said as she picked up her towel and bag, we all followed. Amy walked beside aunt Grace and Samantha decided to talk to Alexis so the two girls walked in front of me as Dean and Quinn followed behind. After we all got tickets and lockers, we walked to our seating area. Quinn walked up beside me and said "Hey man, what's up. I'm Quinn" I smiled and nodded "I heard, I'm Adam." we shook hands and talked about music, Quinn's drumming, my poetry and skating. We then reached the seating area and waited for the girls to get ready. Aunt Grace and Amy laid in the sun bathing chairs as Samantha took off her shorts and bright blue shirt. "Alex are you gonna swim in that?" Sam asked Alexis. "I...um..." Alexis struggled to find an answer as she looked at me. I quickly jumped in and said "Alexis isn't really going to swim, just watch for now" Sam shrugged and Alexis mouthed 'Thanks' as I nodded. She then took off her black jean shorts, only wearing her band T-shirt now with bikini bottoms, which were of course...black. Dean and Quinn had already taken their shirts off, so I did the same. "You kids go have fun, if you need anything we will be here and you have my number" Amy said while laying back and taking in the rays. "Quinn, you and Adam are the eldest so you two are in charge." Aunt Grace said. Quinn gave me a nod and said "Let's go"

The five of us walked to a nearby ride called 'The Flacon' it was a huge waterslide with sharp turns and drops. While we waited in line, all of us talked and Dean talked a little more to Alexis than to anyone else. I felt my stomach tighten, I knew it was jealousy but I had to stay calm for her and I's friendship to work out. I put my hand on Alexis' back when it was time to move up in the line. Samantha hooked her arm in Alexis' while laughing and whispering something in her ear. "Could this line be any slower?" Quinn said sarcastically. I turned my head and smiled while patting him on the shoulder "This is what water parks are all about bro" I laughed. Quinn smiled back and shook his head as the line moved up again. We eventually got to the top of the monstrous slide, heaving and gasping in order to catch our breath. I looked back to see Quinn walking up, his face was flushed. I laughed and he glared at me playfully as I pulled him up the last few steps. I turned to look at Alexis who was as white as a ghost. I knew it wasn't the ride that she feared. Alexis fidgeted with her bandages that rested underneath the jumble of bracelets on her left wrist. That was an old habit she developed around the sixth grade when she started getting panic attacks. I leaned forward so only she could hear me ask in a whisper "You okay?"
