City Lights

Chapter 14

(Adam's POV)

I pulled her out of the hospital building as we laughed. She had the most beautiful laugh. We walked quietly after that down the street and to her house. 

When we got to her house I saw that her mother was in the kitchen making what I was assuming was breakfast. 

"Hey Mom!" shouted Alex. Her mom jumped a little and turned around. "Oh god don't scare me like that Alexis...Hi Adam" she said waving to me. I waved back and said "Hi aunt Grace" 

"Do you two want breakfast?" she asked. We nodded as Alex said "Do you want us to help?" Her mother shrugged and said "If you want"

We started helping her mom cook some eggs and a cake. At one point Alexis put some flour on my nose and laughed. "Oh You are so gonna be sorry" I said chasing her around the kitchen. I caught her from behind and spun her around then kissed her cheek. Her mom laughed and said "I see you two are extra freindly" 

I put Alexi down and asked her mom "Aunt Grace?" While looking down nervously "Yes Adam?" she said while looking at me curiously. 

"Do you mind if...maybe...um...I dated your daughter?" I asked while looking at her waiting for her to explode...but she didn't. Instead she shouted "FINALLY!" and ran to me and hugged me.

I looked at Alexis confused. She shrugged as her mom said "Adam My daughter has dated so many guys who treated her horribly and the only one I ever thought was good enough for her was you. But you tw always acted like friends and nothing more. I thought she would never find the perfect guy. But finally she did...She found you!" 

I smiled and said "Thank you aunt Grace" and hugged her. We ate breakfast after that and talked about how Alexis and I came to be...a couple. We made up some story of being in the park and Alexis telling me her 'secret' which her mom did not know and I said I would do anything to take care of her and I would never let anyone or anything hurt her. Part of the story was true but we couldn't actually tell her mom the real story. That was our 'Secret'

When we were done eating Alex's mom said "You two go do something romantic" we nodded and jut as we were leaving the kitchen she said "But Adam...nothing too romantic" she winked and I laughed then Alexis pulled me upstairs into her room. 

We laid on her bed laughing and talking. I tangled our legs together and wrapped my arm around her. I wanted her to feel as safe as possible. Just then my phone made a ding sound. I got a message from someone. I took my phone out of my pocket and unlocked it. Te password was Alexis...It had been for almost two years. I looked at my phone and saw that it was a message from a friend of mine called Asher.

Asher: Hey bro Im having a summer party at my house tomorrow if you want to come. It starts at five pm.

I turned my phone off and put it back in my pocket. "Who was that?" asked Alex.  shrugged and said "Just Asher saying he is going to have a summer party at his house tomorrow" 

She smiled and sat up. I tried pulling her back "Aww baby I want to cuddle more" She stuck out her toungue playfully and said "Are we going?" I shrugged again "I don't know...Do you want to?"

"Maybe" she said. "What do you mean maybe?" I asked. "If we do choose to go I don't really have anything nice to wear...I will look horrible anyways but I mean I want to look decent" she said I looked up at her like what she just said was ridiculous...and it was. 

"What?" she asked. I sat up and kissed her then I put my forehead on hers and looked into her eyes "You are beautiful no matter what you wear or do...okay?" I said forcefully. I wanted her to know how much she meant to me. And that she was beautiful. She nodded but I knew she didn't believe it.

Then I had an idea. "I'll take you shopping!" I said. She looked at me and smiled really widely...her smile was gorgeous. "Really?!" She asked. I nodded and she jumped on top of me and I fell back on the bed. We laughed and I looked up at her. I moved her hair behind her ear and smiled. She then leaned down and kissed me softly. "I love you" she whispered. I smiled and said "I love you more and Im going to prove it one day" She just kissed me again and laid next to me.

I laid there with her in my arms...my dream had finally came true...I had her in my arms...she was mine...I was hers...We belonged to each other and no one could ever change that...I wouldn't let it happen...My dream was a reality now...beacause she was my dream...she always had been...and now she was a reality...she was my princess and I was going to treat her like one. I loved her with all my heart...I loved Alexis Lyle.
