City Lights

Chapter 8

(Adam's POV)

I woke up groggy. My eyes felt like they were stiched shut. Probably from crying last night. I turned over and grabbed my phone from the floor. I guess it had fallen off the bed while I was asleep. I was still in last nights clothes, apparently I fell asleep without knowing it. I turned my phone on and saw that I had a message from Alexis 'Meet me at the park. Be there at 12:00 -Alex' I looked at the time. 11:55. SHIT SHIT SHIT. I stumbled out of bed and quickly changed my shirt and fixed my hair. Then I grabbed my skateboard and rushed downstairs. "Where are you going?" My mom shouted from the living room. "Park!" I said and didnt wait for her to answer. I rushed out the door and got on my board and skated like it depended on my life. It kind of did...She was my life...Alexis was my life. 

I arrived at the park and stopped looking around for a familier brunnette. I walked around and after a while sat on a bench. A few minutes later I heard someone say "Hey" I turned around and saw those big gray eyes looking at me. She was always so beautiful even if she didnt try to be. I smiled and said "Hey" She walked over and sat beside me. "So" I said "You wanted to talk?" "Yea...um" she looked down. I could tell she was nervous. "Listen Alex you can trust me...you KNOW that right?" I said trying to make eye contact but she kept avoiding it. "I-I know but.." she stuttered. "But what? Alex you have been hiding things from me and I want to know what they are" I said a little too forcefully. "I know...That's what I wanted to talk to you about" She sobbed. She was crying. "Alex just tell me" I said. "Im Trying Adam! Damn it! You make it so hard" She shouted. "Alex just tell me Im worried" I shouted back. "What the hell? I try to tell you something and now you're shouting at me?" She cried. "Alex this isnt my fault! You wanted to talk to me!" I said. "Well maybe I made a mistake to trust you!" She shouted as she stood up. I grabbed her arm "Alex please! I just want to know what the hell is going on with you! You've been acting like a jerk...not trusting me and all!" I screamed. Everyone passing just stared. I didnt really care at that moment. "IM A JERK?!?" she screamed "Let me go Adam! I dont ever want to see you again...stay out of my life!" She said as she tried escaping my grip. I held on too tight for her to be able to. Just then I did something I will regret for the rest of my life.

I pulled my hand back and before I could stop myself I had done it. There was a loud sound and a cry of pain. I looked at Alexis and she had a red mark on her face. "Oh..my ...go- Alex Im so sorry...I-I didnt mean to...I-I-" "Get away from me" she whispered. I took a step closer to her and she backed up a step. "Alex!" I cried. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" She shouted before she ran off. I dont know what I was thinking but I knew this wasnt going to end well....I ran after her.
