Chapter 28

(Adam's POV)

 We stayed like that for the rest of the night, just sitting on the bathroom floor and embracing each other, being happy with each other. There wasn't anywhere else I would have rather been. At one point I had realized that Alexis was shivering so I picked her up and brought her to her bedroom and laid her on the bed covered in black and grey sheets. I then pulled the blanket over us and wrapped an arm around her. She smiled and said "You didn't have to do that you know?" I took her hand in mine and said "But I wanted to." She moved closer to me and I slowly lifted her sleeve, she had taken the bandages off. I traced my fingers over the scars, they were healing but they were still there. "I'm sorry" I whispered. "What for?" she asked, "Each scar" I said as I traced her wrist lightly and continued "is a reminder of every time I wasn't there for you when I should have been" Alexis moved back a little so she could look up at me and she shook her head "Not true at all. You have always been there for me. There are just times when I had to let something out you know? To teach myself a lesson." I sat up quickly and kissed her then I pulled away and held her face while looking into her eyes "Don't ever say that. You don't need to take anything out on yourself or teach yourself a lesson. If you need to take something out of your system, take it out on me. Shout, scream, whatever just don't take it out on yourself okay?" Alexis nodded and kissed my cheek "I love you Adam" "I love you more Alex" I said and I meant it. "No I do" Alexis argued while sticking her tongue out. I smiled "No I do and I said I'm going to prove it which I already thought of how I'll do exactly, but it will have to wait" I said. "How?" she asked "It's a surprise" I answered. "Well then how long do I have to wait?" she asked "A few years" I said smiling then hugging her. She smiled back and we both laid down, she laid on my chest as I played with her hair. "I love you Adam" she whispered "I love you more" I whispered back and with that we both fell asleep. 

(The Next Morning) 

 I woke up to the sound of Alexis' steady breathing and one of her legs wrapped around me. I smiled and kissed her forehead before slowly getting out from under her leg and putting the blanket over her. I was so happy because Alexis was mine again. I went downstairs and walked into the kitchen, i was going to make breakfast in bed for Alexis. Her mom was asleep as-well so I was as quiet as I could have been. I cracked some eggs and put them into a bowl, as I turned the stove on and put the pan on top of it I heard someone say "Good morning" from behind me. I turned around and saw Alexis standing at the kitchen doorway. Her hair was messy and she had on a fairly oversized shirt with shorts barely showing. "Good morning" I said as I walked to her and gave her a hug then a kiss. "What are you up to?" she asked giddily. "Well I was going to make you breakfast in bed but I guess it's just breakfast now" I answered smiling. "Let me help" she said while walking to the freezer and pulling out a pack of bacon. She then put the eggs I had in a bowl into the pan on the stove. I smiled and walked to her, hugging her waist from behind and kissing her neck, she smiled a little and blushed. Before anything else happened Alexis' mom came into the kitchen and said "something smells good" "It's breakfast, want some?" Alexis asked, but her mom just waved a hand and shook her head "I've got a meeting in an hour. I'll catch some coffee and a muffin on the way" "You sure?" Alexis asked again and her mom nodded. "What are you two planning to do for the day?" her mom asked. "Well I have to go get a new swimsuit for the waterpark which is after tomorrow and some makeup because I used all of mine on Adam" Alexis said giggling a bit. Her mom raised an eyebrow but nodded "Do you need any money?" she asked. Alexis shook her head and her mom said "Well you two drive safe, or skate safe, whatever you two are doing today. I'm going to take a shower then I'll be off to work" she gave Alexis a quick kiss on the head and gave me a pat on the shoulder. Alexis and I then finished up breakfast and ate.

 After breakfast we went back into Alexis' room and she said "You don't have to come to the mall with me if you're too busy" I shook my head and pulled her closer to me by her waist "I'm never too busy to spend time with you" I said looking down at her and kissing her head. We hugged for a while then Alexis went to get changed in the bathroom. I waited on her bed patiently and put on some songs by 'Frank Ocean'. After about an hour or so I was laying down when Alexis opened the bathroom door. She was wearing a big 'Misfits' sweater with black ripped jeans and black hightop, worn out converse shoes. "Damn you take forever to get ready" I said laughing and she shook her head laughing. I stood up and walked over to her, embracing her as I whispered "You look beautiful" she blushed which was adorable to me but she hated it. Alexis covered her face with her hands but I took her hands in mine and said "Baby look at me" she looked up and smiled as I kissed her. Alexis then said "Okay let's go" She grabbed my car keys and tossed them to me as she walked out of her room and downstairs, I followed with a smile on my face.
