Chapter 17

(Alexis's POV)

I walked inside and greeted my mother and then walked upstairs to my room. I closed the door behind me and leaned against it as I took a deep breath smiling. I thought to myself ' wow I've never felt this way about anyone before...he is just so perfect!' I undressed and changed into my pajamas then got into bed. I looked through my messages and saw that Cat texted me again.

Cat: Seriously freak you just do what you do best and look for attention.

I stared at the recent text messages and started to sob into my pillow. The taste of salt and water filled my mouth as I lifted my sleeve to reveal my bandaged wrists and forearms. 'Promise me' Adam's voice echoed in my mind. I shook my head. I could not break my promise...I couldn't. I pulled my sleeve back down and just stared at the ceiling for the rest of the night until I fell asleep at around 2:45 am.

*The next morning*

I woke up groggy with the taste of metal filling my mouth. I pulled my hair back into a messy bun and got up yawning. I sat up and grabbed my phone from the pink bedside table...I seriously hated the color pink. I scrolled through my twitter feed and text messages. I saw one from Adam as my eyes scanned the screen.

Adam: The party starts at around 5 pm so I'll be at your house at like 3 ok?

I texted him a quick 'Sure' back and went into the bathroom. I put my phone into my speakers and turned on my 'Sleeping With Sirens' playlist. I then undressed and got into the shower and let the warm water wash over me. After I was clean and refreshed I got out of the shower and turned the water off as I wrapped a towel around my body. I checked the time quickly, 2:35 pm. I had less than half an hour to get ready before Adam arrived. I grabbed a pair of black ripped jeans and a casual black sweater and walked back to the bathroom as I locked the door behind me.

I started getting dressed and reapplying my bandages. I then put some make up on as I started singing along with one of my favorite Sleeping with Sirens songs that came on called 'Heroine'. I curled my hair and pinned it back as I opened the bathroom door and danced into my room. As I danced I turned and saw Adam standing at my bedroom doorway grinning. I stopped and blushes 'This is so embarrassing' I thought to myself just as he walked towards me. He took my hand and began dancing in an extremely dorky way. Not that I'm complaining because I'm not the greatest dancer in the world either.

The song stopped and switched to 'If I'm James Dean and You're Audrey Hepburn'. Adam got closer to me holding both of my hands as he rested his forehead on mine and smiled looking into my eyes. I looked into his sky blue eyes and saw everything I could ever need. He closed his eyes and so did I as our breathing became in sync and our lips connected. The feeling of his lips on mine was surreal and overall amazingly breathtaking. When we pulled away he smiled and moved a stray hand of hair away from in front of my eyes and tucked it behind my ear. He traced his hand over my lower cheek and jaw.

I smiled back as he whispered "You are so beautiful and I love you, you know?" I lowered my head a bit blushing and he placed his hand under my chin and lifting it making me look him in the eyes. "I mean it" he said as I kissed him again and whispered "Thank you and I love you more"

"You also look amazing. I love the whole dark look you've got. Its hot. and beautiful" Adam said laughing a bit and smiling. He then checked his phone and asked "Ready to go? It's almost 4:30 pm. Don't wanna be late do we cause you take forever?" he rolled his eyes sarcastically as I laughed and stuck my tongue out playfully and said "Sure just let me grab my phone"

I went to the bathroom and disconnected my phone from the speaker and walked out not finding Adam. I looked around when suddenly I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist from behind and spin me around. We both laughed as he set me down and I turned to give him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Adam smiled and motioned to the door "Lets go princess" I blushed and asked "Princess?" He shrugged and said "Yea my new nickname for you because you are a princess to me" I smiled and nodded and said "And you're my prince charming who saved me" "Yup!" He said as we laughed walking out of the house and getting into his car hand in hand. 'He really is perfection' I thought as we drove off to the party. But what I didn't know was that this day was going to get a lot worse...
