(Alexis' POV)
I hadn't fallen back asleep. It was 5::03 pm and I had stayed in bed the whole day, my mom didn't complain, instead she brought me food that I didn't eat much of. She was always checking on me. I was her only child after all. Adam was an only child as well...Adam. I had cried at least a dozen times during the day. I just laid there listening to music and watching movies on my laptop.
My mom knocked on the door and walked in "Alexis, there's someone here who wants to see you" I raised an eyebrow as my mom opened the door to let Adam in. "Mom no please-" but I was cut off by Adam running over to me and crashing his lips onto mine. I pulled away and started to say "Adam-" but he said "no Alexis please listen" he turned to look at my mom and she got the hint so she said "I'll be downstairs if you need me Alexis, Adam if she doesn't feel well let me know" then she left closing the door behind her. Adam turned back to me and continued "I'm only asking for five minutes" I nodded. "I don't know how Cat did what she did but you have to believe me, I would never do anything to hurt you. Especially something like that." He said while grabbing my hand, I pulled my hand away and he looked hurt "then how was it from your number?" I asked trying not to cry. "I don't know I swear. She must have gotten a hold of my phone or something, which reminds me...I actually came here to not only explain this to you but also because I have your phone" Adam said while pulling my phone out from his back pocket. I thanked him and he looked at me, I looked down at my phone and back at him "please Alexis...I love you...you know that. And I know you love me too" I looked down again and said "I know and yes I love you too but..." I stopped and he asked "but?" "But I need time. Until then...we can be friends okay?" It hurt so badly for me to say that...I knew he didn't want to just be friends and neither did I ...and he knew that, but I couldn't just believe it, I believed him and trusted him more than anyone but I needed proof and time. Adam nodded and looked at me "I understand"
I sat up straight as we sat in silence for a while. "What are you watching?" Adam asked looking at the laptop beside me. "This movie called 'The spectacular now'" I replied. "Oh my god I love that movie! Do you mind if I stay and watch it with you?...we could have a movie night like old times" he said with hope lighting up his eyes. I gave in and smiled "why not?" He smiled and jumped up from the bed holding out a hand. "What are you doing?" I asked smiling. "We have to go make snacks gosh! The movie night rule one O one" he said in a girly voice. I laughed and started to get up when I noticed I was only wearing a sweater. "What's wrong?" Adam asked. "Um...can you wait outside please? I need to get dressed" I said. Adam shrugged and said "you don't have to cause...once again!... We grew up together. But okay" I shook my head blushing. "You're red!" He said pointing at me and laughing "shut up you're making it worse!" I laughed as he walked out of the room laughing as well. I quickly put on a pair of leggings and left the sweater on then walked out to find Adam leaning against the wall "are you decent now?" He laughed. I rolled my eyes and walked down to the kitchen with Adam following me.
We made some popcorn and got a bag of chips and I quickly grabbed two Dr. Peppers from the fridge. "Okay now we're ready" Adam said walking back to my room. I followed him and put everything on the floor once we were in the room. I pulled out an extra big blanket that I had in the closet and laid it on the floor and then I grabbed all of my pillows and put them down. "Another movie night rule, making a comfy place" I said smiling. Adam smiled and nodded then placed my laptop into his lap to play it and then placed it between us.
Throughout the movie we are some popcorn and drank Dr. Pepper. I caught Adam looking at me a few times but I didn't make a big deal about it. When we reached the end of the movie I felt someone grab my hand, obviously Adam. I pulled my hand away slowly and I saw hurt flash in his eyes, I smiled a little and looked back at the screen to see the credits. "So..." I said while looking around nervously. I checked the time on my laptop. It was still only 8:40pm. "Let's listen to some music" Adam said while pulling my laptop onto his lap. I forgot that I had a picture of Adam as my wallpaper so when he closed the window he just looked over at me and sighed. The picture was taken at the spring dance last year when we both went as friends. But Adam did have a date...Cat.
Adam played a song called 'waiting for love by Avicii. I expected him to play some deep and meaningful song so I guess I looked shocked. He just laughed and started dancing weirdly while sitting down, it was hilarious. I started laughing a lot as he said "oh so you think it's funny huh?" I tried not to laugh but I couldn't hold it in. "You're so getting it" he smiled and grabbed me then started to tickle me. "No! Adam, HA HA OKAY I-I'm sorry" I said breathlessly. He stopped tickling me, he was ontop of me and looking into my eyes while smiling. He then realized what he was doing and got up then sat back in his place quietly as the song changed to 'Follow you' by Night Riots. I looked around and saw my make up on the dresser. "I have an idea" I said smirking. Adam followed my gaze and his eyes widened "Alex you better not-" but I cut him off by shouting "MAKEOVER!"
