(Adam's POV)

As we drove to Asher's house Alexis turned the radio on and looked out the window smiling and singing along to some pop song that I didn't know. I watched her out of the corner of my eye and smiled to myself as I looked back at the road. She was so...beautiful! If there is any other word in the world that I could use to describe her beauty I would.

I felt Alexis intertwine her fingers in mine and I looked at her and smiled, she smiled back. I stopped at a stop light as I heard Alexis ask "Adam?" "Yea?" I said looking at her with concern. "What if Cat is at the party?" I saw a glimpse of fear flash in her eyes before she looked at the road "Lights green" she said without looking at me. I looked and started driving again. "If Cat is there you stay with me and I promise I won't let her hurt you okay?" I said. She didn't answer for a while and then she said "Okay but Im tired of being scared of her you know?" I didn't know how to answer that so I just nodded and said "I understand." It made me feel completely useless because I couldn't help her...I couldn't take away her fear...It hurt knowing that.

We arrived at Asher's house and his driveway was already full of cars and trash, so I parked a block down. Alexis and I got out of the car and walked up to the modern looking house. I had not been to Asher's house since his last party in seventh grade. It wasn't exactly what I would call a great party. Alexis was with a guy called Michael at the time and he had broken up with her at the party, so I had to sit there watching her cry over him. I wanted to hurt Michael so badly that night...also Cat kept flirting with me but I ignored it. I only ever dated two girls, once in sixth grade and last year. I didn't ever really love them like I loved Alexis. I don't think I could ever love someone like I loved Alexis.

Alexis and I got to the front door and I opened it to the smell of cigarettes. There wasn't really a lot of people there but a group of kids from my english class were in the kitchen talking, laughing, and a girl was smoking, I think her name was Cara. The rest were in the living room so Alexis and I walked there. Asher saw us and said "Hey bro, Hey Alex, we were just talking about that new Action movie coming out tomorrow called 'Rise Again'. Kevin thinks he can download it illegally" I smiled and laughed a bit. I then realized that Alexis was not beside me so I looked around and saw her sitting beside Iris, a girl in my biology class. They were close friends and Alexis looked like she was having fun already, laughing and playfully pushing Iris so I smiled and sat between Asher and a guy called Reed.

After about an hour or so, more people flooded through the front door and Cat was among them. I then got up and sat beside Alexis and Iris on the floor and put my arm around Alexis. Cat walked past us and smiled at me but I did not return the smile. Alexis did not even notice the fact that Cat was there because she was too busy trying to tell Iris a funny story of the time she fell into a swimming pool on her skateboard, without laughing. I was there when that happened and it was actually hilarious...I laughed for ten minutes straight until Alexis pulled me into the pool with her.

Cat ended up sitting beside Kevin while he worked on downloading the movie. She kept looking over at me but I kept looking away. When enough people were in the two story house Asher got up and turned on the stereo. At one point a song I really liked called 'Prayer in C' came on and I took Alexis' hand and pulled her to the middle of the living room where everyone was dancing. She looked at me and then behind me, I turned to see Cat glaring at her. I looked back at Alexis and whispered in her ear so she could hear me over the music "Don't worry just dance with me." I took her hands and started dancing. At first I could tell that Alexis felt uncomfortable but after the song changed to 'Lush Life' by Zara Larsson (Which I knew she loved) she started dancing and laughing with me. She was so adorable when she danced, even though she couldn't dance (Neither could I) it was so cute in a way. I was so lucky to have her in my life...I never wanted to let her go...Ever.
