Waking Up

I woke up on a bed in an unfamiliar room. First thing I did was to feel my collar, except I couldn't. My right arm was gone, well good riddance to it. I reached with my other arm instead, and felt nothing. This made me open my eyes as bright white lights flooded my vision. I got up from the bed and stumbled as I was still getting used to the light. I could see a mirror on the wall, so I made an uneven path towards it. I couldn't reach it though. Instead I smacked my head Into a clear wall. I stood there with my head on the wall as I rubbed my eyes to get used to the light. As I got used to it, I looked up to a full length mirror. The mirror showed me that not only was my right arm gone, but so was my collar. As I looked at myself, a door to the side opened up. In walked two adults. A white haired man with a cane and cup in hand, and a blonde woman with glasses.

Man: "Ah, I see you are awake. That was the quite the spectacle you put at the docks."

I watched them as he pulled up a wooden chair to sit on. I sat down on the bed as they continued to talk.

Man: "Let me ask you first young man. Who exactly are you? I have some thoughts, but I want to hear from you first."

Stele: "No. I want to know who is keeping me here first."

The blonde woman stepped closer to me with a stern expression.

Woman: "Now listen here! You aren't really in a position for demands!"

Man: "Now now Glynda. I'm sorry, how rude of me to not introduce myself first. I am professor Ozpin. I am the headmaster of Beacon Academy."

Stele: "Beacon Academy? What's that?"

Ozpin: "What is Beacon? Have you not been to a school before?"

Stele: "No. I've... Never had a chance to go to one."

The blonde one, Glynda, leaned in close to talk to him in the ear. I looked around my plastic room. I could feel a connection to something now. If I could find exactly where it was, I could get out of here.

Ozpin: "So, young man, you know our names. How about you introduce yourself now?"

Stele: "My name is Stele. I'm 17 years old."

Ozpin: "Is that all? Then how do you tie in with Atlas, and the Schnee dust company?"

As he asked this, I had pulled the connected metal towards me. It wasn't much of anything, it was just a loose screw between the walls of the actual room. Glynda had raised some sort of stick towards me but Ozpin continued to sit there watching me. The screw couldn't reach me though. Even though the connection was there, It couldn't get through the plastic walls.

Ozpin: "Settle down Mr. Stele. This is a thick, plastic walled room. There are no gaps. The plastic is breathable though, which allows air and sound through so we can talk and you don't suffocate."

I left the screw on the floor besides my plastic wall, as I listened to them some more.

Glynda: "We know this because those were our students there that night. You attacked them without cause. One of them lost part of an ear, and the other has a scar on their cheek now. Both of which, you are responsible for."

Stele: "I could have killed them though. Not everyone is lucky to have mercy shown upon them.

Glynda: " Why is it that you didn't finish it then?"

Stele: "They weren't Schnee. They only had the scent of one on them. Now, you said only two of them were wounded. What about the third?"

Ozpin: "Mr. Wukong is just fine."

Stele: "Is that the yellow monkey? No, not him. The green one."

They looked at each other in confusion.

Ozpin: "We are not entirely sure about them. We were told that their was another, but that their care taker came for them before we got there."

I let out a scoff at this.

Stele: "Of course. Damn Atlas always wants their little toys back. But why am I here? Why didn't they take me?"

Ozpin: "We are getting there. With you bringing up Atlas, we come back to the initial question. What is your situation with them? The first thing you said that night were the words Atlas, and Schnee. The logo of Atlas and the Schnee dust company were branded into your now severed arm, and Atlas was on your collar. "

Stele: "I Was just a tool for them. Being able to control metal comes in handy. That paired with my eyes comes in handy a lot."

Ozpin: "Your eyes?"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I opened them and took a quick look around the plastic room and found what I was looking for. Near a top corner of the wall between us was a small glittering black light. I lifted the screw and pulled it towards me at the black light. As the screw got embedded into the plastic nothing immediately happened, but after a moment it started cracking. Then with a light knock it came breaking down. They looked stunned as I essentially broke the wall down with a single screw a light knock. Glynda had pointed her stick at me again but Ozpin raised his hand to her and stood up. I sat on the bed as he walked over pieces of the wall. He leaned in close to me. He had a weird smell to him, something I smelled at Atlas before.

Ozpin: "You have Black eyes?"

After looking at my eyes, he stood up tall and took a drink from his cup.

Ozpin: "How would you like to attend my school?"

Glynda obviously didn't like the thought of me going.

Glynda: "You can't be serious! We don't know anything about him! All we do know, is that he will probably cause more trouble like he already has! He got into a fight with three students and hurt two of them already."

Ozpin: "Calm down Glynda. This might exactly be what his life has been all about. Treated like a monster. But all I see is a young man, a young man who can listen to some rules...correct? Or end up in an actual location to hold him? Somewhere in Atlas where he first came from? But you would rather attend an actual school, right?"

I didn't have any other choice here. If it means being away from Atlas and the Schnee dust company. Having to go to a school is better than anything else that could happen to me.

Stele: "I don't really have a choice, now do I? "

Ozpin: "Very well then. Come along with me. I'll explain your special rules on our way."

I followed past the broken wall, and out of the room. It was nice to have a connection to actual metal again.

(I decided to post until Monday, then start the weekly update. Maybe post an extra for each new episode that releases.)
