Stele (A RWBY story)

First Day (part 4)

I find myself going up to Ozpin's tower. I was in the the building just earlier, only on a lower floor. I guess it was good that I wasn't alone though. Velvet and team CRDL were both coming up with me to solve my problem. Even if one if them is the problem itself.

I looked at Cardin and his team. The first nuisance to come my way. I could kill them right now if I wanted to, it would be easy. We are in a metal box which is in a metal shaft. I could open the floor just under them so that Velvet and Glynda are fine. I could also just shift a spike into them. Though if I do any of that I get a one way ticket back to Atlas. Being in this elevator has shown me another thing about the secret underground, it is directly connected to this elevator.

Velvet: "You okay Stele? You seem out of it like in the mess hall."

I heard Cardin speak under his breath.

Cardin: "Freaks girlfriend."

Glynda: "Did you say something Cardin?"

Cardin: "No ma'am."

I looked at Cardin as he tried to play it off. He was snickering and whispering to the other members of his team. He really makes it hard to not do what I was imagining on doing. 

Stele: "Yeah bunny. I'm okay. Just thinking. Looking at things."

Glynda was watching me. She seemed happy that Velvet was trying to get along with me. It wasn't much longer until we got to the top. Ozpin was drinking from his mug, already watching the elevator.

Ozpin: " Please, come in."

I don't like Ozpin. I've hardly known him but I already know he's hiding stuff. My senses also tell me he is a dangerous man. Who would trust someone that let's a killer into their school. Then there is the scent that he has that is also at Atlas.

Ozoin: "So, Mr. Stele. I'd heard you have run across some problems with Mr Winchester and his team." 

Stele: "That is correct sir. I was trying to find my way to Professor Port's class when I heard cries of pain."

Cardin: "That is a lie sir. We were just playing with Velvet here."

He put his arm around her as if they have been long time friends. It was obvious that it was making Velvet uncomfortable. I don't like people like him. He's like Atlas and the Schnee. Thinks he can do what he wants to the weak and the Faunus. 

Ozpin: "Settle down Mr. Stele."

Ozpin was watching me. I didn't realize that my hand was clenched tight. I took a breath to calm myself. I've leaned that it helps others to see me try and relax. After my breath, Ozpin gestured with his hand for me to continue. 

Stele: " Sorry about that. Continuing on. I stopped when I heard the cries to see, who I found to be, Velvet on the floor surrounded by team CRDL. After making eye contact with them the Mohawk and blue grabbed me and brought me to Cardin." 

Glynda: "Mohawk and blue? Oh." 

She realized who I was talking about after giving them another look. She turned around to try and stifle a laugh.

Stele: "I had warned them that I did not want trouble. They did not listen to the warning. They had said they didn't want another 'Jauney Boy'. Who during the first break I found to be Jaune Arc and had a small conversation with. He even showed me the gym with the equipment lockers and showed me to Oobleck class. Back to the situation though. In order to make me not another 'Jauney boy' they held my harder as they tried to attack me. As you can see it did not go as planned. After a quick altercation, I took Velvet in order for her to show me to my class. Also, when I had given her my schedule I found her to have a black eye. Something I presume to have happened when they were, as Cardin put it, just playing around."

Ozpin: "Ms. Scarlatina, is this what happened?" 

Velvet: "Yes, sir it is. They surprised me in the hall. I had stayed a bit behind in my class so I had to rush to my next one. I wasn't paying attention to my surrounding which is how they did it." 

We watched as she pulled something from a pouch on her pants. It was a sort of rag which she used to wipe the makeup she put on her eye. Ozpin and Glynda sighed as they looked at the bruise. 

Glynda: "Well, that does it. Team CRDL, as of today you are expelled. Please clear your room and board the last train leaving here."

Their faces filled with dread at the verdict. I thought it was too light of a punishment though.

Cardin: "Wait a minute! Surely this is too of a punishment. Can't it be something else?"

Ozpin: "That's quite enough Mr. Winchester. We are well aware of your bullying in Beacon. We had hoped you would change your way after Jaune. But apparently not." 

I wanted a different punishment. 

Stele: "I would like to propose an alternate outcome if I may." 

They all looked towards me now. I would be team CRDL's saving grace.

Ozpin: "What do you have in mind?" 

Stele: "Well, seeing as how this is making me miss physical education, and the last class is a self sparring. I would like to request a match. It would be me versus team CRDL. That is if they agree to it. Win or lose they stay. But of course on paper thin ice. No more screw ups or they are on the next train out of here. "

Ozpin was looking at me for a moment. Analyzing me. I hate getting studied like this.

Ozpin: "Interesting proposal. You do need to be tested still. Having you against a team that has passed the initiation seems like a fine test. I will allow it, if they also agree to it. "

Cardin: "Yes! We agree to a match against Stele!"

He seemed all too happy at agreeing. They didn't know what I had planed for them. All they see is another weak Faunus. A crippled one at that.  It would be their mistake.

Ozpin: "Very well. You may go and prepare. Stele, stay here please. We have more to discuss. Team CRDL please remember, you are on very thin ice now. I don't want to hear anything else about any of you.." 

Team CRDL and Velvet went towards the elevator. Velvet stopped and looked back at me smiling as the doors opened. I returned the smile as she entered. When the doors closed, I dropped the smile and turned back to Ozpin and Glynda. 

Stele: "So what do you want?"

Glynda: "We just wanted to see how you are handling everything so far." 

Stele: "I'm doing as fine as I can. Seeing as how it is only the first day anyways."

Glynda: "And your classes so far?"

Stele: "Manageable. Yours is my favorite for the same reason as P.E and self sparring."

Ozpin: "Well it's good that you are only causing minimal trouble. And are doing well with your circumstances."

Stele: "I would be better if I knew where I was staying and who it is taking me in."

Ozpin: "You will know after your match. And Stele, don't kill them. They are still students here."

I just smiled as I went towards the elevator. I can try and manage keeping them alive.
