The scent of Atlas was once again prominent in the air. It seemed like they had finished setting up, for a hologram of General Ironwood was talking. He's lucky he didn't come here in person to give this speech, or the plaza would be ruined. He was talking about the Atlesian Knights being replaced with the upgraded Atlesian Knights 200. It was all the same to me, just better looking piles of metal for me. Then he showed another toy for me to look forward to. He called it the Atlesian Paladin, a larger mech filled with guns.
I had seen enough and was turning to go to the forge when I seen two soldiers pointing at something. My curiosity got the better of me and I looked at what they were pointing at. It was the green robot from the docks. She was next to Ruby and took off running away from the soldiers. It was an interesting situation, one I decided to follow. I was behind the soldiers as they ran down alleyways and crossed streets. From the back I could hear Ruby knock down a large stack of crates, before she continued on running on the wall.
Soldier: "Let's turn back and find another way! Wait, who are-"
I wasn't going to let some fallen crates stop me from following them, or some soldiers. I made my cuff arm and grabbed the soldiers and used them to break through the crates. As we got through the crates, I slammed their heads together and tossed them to the side. They were still breathing at least. I couldn't see Ruby and the robot, but I could smell them. I rounded the corner to see them at the other end. Ruby had tried to carry the robot while speeding away, but she proved too heavy and they fell. Ruby had tumbled and continued on into the street. This was getting more exciting. I hurried down and climbed the wall and sat on a fire escape. I could hear the truck coming, and see Ruby brace for impact. Instead the robot girl had moved in front of Ruby, stopping the truck. I guess she lives another day. A crowd was forming around them causing the robot girl to run back into the alleyway.
Ruby got up and chased after her again. Does she still not know that she isn't human? I mean, surely she does now, its synthetic skin even peeled off from the truck. They stopped underneath me and were talking. Boring stuff about actually being friends and such, nothing useful. Nothing interesting until she showed Ruby her hands. Aaaaaand she doesn't care. Ruby is too happy go lucky. This is getting boring. I started clapping and mock cheering for them.
Stele: "Let's go! The robot girl made a friend. How sweet."
They both looked up in surprise at me.
Ruby: "Stele! When did you get here?"
Stele: "I had just finished eating breakfast when I seen you run from the soldiers. So I followed you since I had some time before work."
Ruby: "So you just watched as I almost got hit by that truck?!"
Stele: "I'm sorry, was I supposed to do something about it? You have the little P.E.N.N.Y unit with you, and you've done nothing to warrant me wanting to help you."
Ruby: "You are still a huntsman in training, a classmate, and a temporary member of the team though!"
Stele: "Oh? We have never done anything together. Instead, I've only been shown hate and fear from the so called team. I guess I'm only counted when it's convenient for you. Just go play with your new friendly robot girl. Which I see got nicely repaired from last time. Not all of us can just slap on a new arm like nothing."
I could feel her arm which I had crushed, had newer metal then the rest of her. She was also shying away behind Ruby.
Ruby: "What's wrong Penny? There's not going to be any problems, right Stele?"
Stele: "I don't know. I haven't done anything wrong. It's you two who ran from the soldiers. But I suppose she does have things to worry about, being made from Atlas and all. I'm sure she is worried about herself."
