Stele (A RWBY story)

Saturday (Part 1)

Finally, it's the weekend. I was on my way back to the dorms after talking with Glynda. She was a bit upset that I didn't go to the infirmary for my wound, but she was happy that I was healing nicely. As I made my way up the stairs, I made sure my mask was on correctly. I hated that I need to ask Schnee for permission for something.

I made my way down the hall to the door of team RWBY. As I was going to knock on the door, the door behind me opened and I was grabbed.

Nora: "Wolfy! You're all better now!"

Stele: "Yes Shortstack, I'm fine."

It was just Nora hugging me. Nothing for me to react to.

Nora: "But we all seen the bullet go ripping through you!"

Ren: "Nora, leave Stele alone. He could still be healing after all of it."

I turned around with Nora still wrapped around me to look at team JNPR. They were all dressed to go into Vale.

Pyrrah: "I'm guessing you are here to ask Weiss to go into Vale?"

I sighed at her reminding me.

Stele: "Yes... I need to ask Schnee, the head babysitter, if I can go into Vale alone. I'm tired of my every move being watched. I want to be truly free, even if it's for a limited time in Vale."

Ren and Nora started walking down the hall as Jaune and Pyrrha stayed to tell me a few more things.

Pyrrha: "If she says no. I know you can still go if you are with me. So if you make it to the train before we leave you are welcome to come along, right Jaune?"

Jaune: "Yeah of course! We are going to spend time as a team. But you are always welcome to join us."

Stele: "Thank you for the offer. But I still want to hear the answer Schnee will give."

Pyrrha: "Alright Stele. I'm going to catch up to the others. Jaune I understand you wanted to tell Stele something. So I'll leave you to it."

We watched Pyrrha walk away leaving just me and Jaune. When she descended the stairs Jaune pulled me into their room and closed the door.

Stele: "What was so important that you needed to wait for your team to leave and for me to be locked in your room?"

Jaune grabbed a box under his bed and handed it to me.

Stele: "What's this?"

Jaune: "I don't know. All I know is that the girls form team CVFY told me to give it to you. Said they were sorry they couldn't give to you directly for they have a mission. I don't even know how you are close with upper classman like that."

I opened the box to find an outfit in it. A note on it said that Coco had made it herself. They also left me some money for my time in Vale.

Jaune:" Wow. They gave you an outfit. They must really like you then. But that wasn't the main thing. I wanted to talk to you about team RWBY."

Stele: "What about them?"

Jaune: "Well they have a lot going on in their life right now. And I know you aren't doing it on purpose but you are adding to it."

Stele: "I don't have anything against them."

Jaune: "I know. They haven't said anything about it, but they have been looking up stuff a lot. Then after the docks what you did scared Ruby and Blake. They needed some counseling in Vale for a bit."

Stele: "Wrong place at the wrong time for them, good for me though. Besides, black cat is a Faunus. I like the Faunus. Cowlick seems to be protecting her team, more so her sister. Little red I like, her semblance is useful to me. Schnee is my only problem."
