A Cold Day (Part 1)

I woke up due to something moving at the foot of my bed. I looked over to see Weiss sitting on it watching me.

Weiss: "Stele will you lis-"

I kicked her off my bed without letting her finish.

She didn't look angry or anything at me kicking her away from me. She just dusted herself off and looked at me again.

Stele: "I thought I felt a cold wind near my feet. Every time I've left my box open, something unpleasant wakes me."

Even through my blurry eyes I could see her holding back what she really wanted to do.

Weiss: "I can... I can see where this is coming from."

Stele: "Leave me alone. You're also too close, unless you don't mind what could happen if you are."

She didn't move. She just stood there watching me still.

Weiss: "I just want to talk Stele. The things...the things Winter told me. I-"

Stele: "Shut up!"

She winced at my outburst, but still stood by me. I had gotten up now. Blake had been reading a book, but she had put it down and was watching us. The others were woken up now and looking around.

Ruby: "What's going on?"

Yang: "Is everything alright?"

I looked around at the others, before taking my stuff and heading for the door.

Stele: "I'm heading out."

Weiss: "Wait! We need to talk Stele!"

Stele: "Not here! Others don't need to hear it."

I left the room now, heading for the amphitheater to train. I wasn't alone on my way to train, but I ignored the tail. I just needed something to distract me from what is to come today.

Pyrrha: "How do you manage to do more every time?"

I walked in to see Pyrrha and Nora already working out. Nora was somehow lifting more than last time. She finished racking the bar and looked at me, or rather us.

Nora: "Hey Stele! And Weiss? You're training with us?"

Weiss: "I'm just here fo-"

Stele: "Ignore her. She's an unwanted tail, already ruining my morning. I'll have to train with my mask on this time."

Pyrrha: "Well hello to you both still. Are you good to train still Stele? You didn't seem the best after yesterday."

Stele: "Yes I'm fine, I had some special healing yesterday. Right now I just need something that will distract me for the time being."

Nora: "Something destructive?!"

Pyrrha: "Now Nora. I don't think he necessarily means something like that?"

Stele: "Sure. I don't care what it is we do, I just need something to do."

She didn't need to hear anymore as she threw the barbell she was just using at me. I shifted metal over my arm and caught it, but was still pushed back a few feet. I stopped just in front of Weiss.

Weiss: "She just threw a weight at you! And you call this training?!"

Stele: "Well excuse me princess. Not all of us can have special Atlas training."

Weiss: "But you al-"

I slammed one end of the barbell into the ground breaking the floor around it.

Stele: "You! Don't know shit of what I've been through! What you think sounded like regular training, was living hell! We were just kids that never asked for any of it!"
