Danny waited for Jazz and his parents to come downstairs, both eager and nervous to break the news. As expected, his parents were elated that Danielle had decided to stay, though Jazz still seemed a little unsure.
'I'm sure it'll be fine,' she said with a smirk when he pressed. 'I think it'll be good for you to have someone to look out for. Might make you a bit more responsible in your behaviour.'
'Hey, I'm responsible!' he shot back, 'I just saved the world! And repaying all those people that helped me! I'm practically overflowing with responsibility.'
'Mm hmm,' she replied, 'Well we'll see how that translates to an individual person with ghost powers. Now you'll know how I feel.'
Danny froze, realising the implications now.
'Oh. Yeah. Um... any advice?'
Jazz laughed and Jack gave him a hearty pat on the back.
'Don't worry, son!' he exclaimed, 'I'm sure we can keep her out of trouble!'
'More like keep too much trouble from occurring,' he replied.
'It'll be fine,' Maddie reassured him, 'We're all right here with you. You've got nothing to worry about. But I will need to make some arrangements to make sure things go off without a hitch.'
'What do you mean?' Danny asked as she rose and started to move towards the lab.
'Official documents and things like that,' Maddie explained, 'We have to get her recognised as a Fenton officially. I have a friend in the DIA that can help with that.'
She quickly disappeared and Danny marvelled at the fact that apparently his mom was able to arrange the creation of forged documents from the US government.
'In the meantime, we've got a big day planned!' Jack announced, jumping to his feet and dropping a selection of cereals on the table before them. 'Eat up!'
'What plans?' Jazz asked apprehensively.
'If she's staying, we need to upgrade the guest room! Ghost lazers! Ecto-weapons! Fully automated defence system!'
Danny dropped his face to the table in exasperation. Of course his dad would be getting way too into this.
'Why don't we start with some new bedsheets?' Jazz suggested, 'And maybe some clothes would be a good start?'
Danny looked up as Jack sat back down heavily, pouting. 'I suppose those things are important too.'
Danny jerked upright as a whisp of fog escaped his mouth and a shiver raced down his spine. He glanced back to see Danielle huddled against the doorframe, watching them cautiously.
'Oh, hi!' he said, 'Sorry, I didn't know you were up.'
'I've always been an early riser,' she replied.
'Come on in and help yourself!' Jack exclaimed, beaming. 'There's plenty for everyone!'
Danielle cautiously approached the table as if she was afraid it might lunge at her. Though given the family's past experience with awakened hot dogs, it wasn't out of the question. She tentatively sat next to Danny, staying close to him as she watched Jack and Jazz while reaching for the cereal.
'Dad was just saying that we're going to head out today to buy you some stuff,' Danny explained.
'What stuff?' she asked warily, 'Why?'
'Well, new clothes for starters.'
She looked down at what she was wearing, no doubt wondering why she needed new clothes when she could just continue wearing Jazz's hand-me-down set.
