Deku had been having nightmares ever since the day of the battle on the island. Each night, he would see Kacchan's lifeless body on the ground, with Shigaraki standing over him. It was a gruesome image that would haunt him in his sleep, and he couldn't shake it off no matter how hard he tried.
The nightmares had started to affect his daily life, as he found himself becoming more and more anxious and scared. His classmates had noticed the change in him and had tried to talk to him about it, but he had always brushed them off, not wanting to burden them with his problems.
One night, he woke up from his nightmare gasping for air, his heart racing with fear. He couldn't take it anymore, he needed to talk to someone about it. He got out of bed and walked towards the common room, hoping someone would be awake.
As he entered the room, he saw Kacchan sitting on the couch, staring into space. Deku hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should disturb him, but then he remembered how Kacchan had always been there for him, and he walked up to him.
"Kacchan, can we talk?" Deku asked, his voice trembling.
Kacchan looked up and saw the fear in Deku's eyes. He got up and sat next to him, putting his arm around him.
"Of course, what's wrong?" Kacchan asked softly.
Deku took a deep breath and began to recount his nightmares to Kacchan. He told him how he saw him lying on the ground, lifeless, with Shigaraki standing over him. He told him how it haunted him every night and how he couldn't shake it off.
Kacchan listened patiently, his grip on Deku's shoulder tightening with each passing moment. When Deku was done, Kacchan pulled him into a tight embrace, holding him close.
"I'm sorry, Deku. I didn't know it was affecting you this much. But you have to understand that it wasn't your fault. You did everything you could to save me and everyone else. You can't blame yourself for something that wasn't in your control."
Deku nodded, tears streaming down his face. Kacchan wiped them away gently.
"We'll get through this together, okay? You don't have to carry this burden alone."
Deku smiled weakly, grateful for Kacchan's words of comfort. He leaned into him, feeling the warmth of his body and the safety of his embrace. For the first time in weeks, he felt like he could sleep peacefully.
As they both fell asleep on the couch, their bodies entwined, Deku knew that Kacchan would always be there for him, no matter what.
