They say living a life is not that difficult. Just keep breathing. That is all it takes to live a life. Anu was doing the same too for a whole week and that was the only sign to tell she is alive. Losing her intern who is not just her intern resulted in a severe trauma. Karthik left all his traces everywhere. Besides, acknowledging that a part of her is missing and will not come back ever is just grinding every part of her.
"How long are you going to be this way?" Gautham questioned her hopeless state and she ignored him the same way she has been doing. Since that day, Gautham made sure that he is living with her. He can't and won't leave her during her worsts. In addition to this, he also has a kid to take care of. Doing all this while dealing with the country's top talk case would be hectic but doing this while being jobless is just fine.
Gautham also lost his job as a lawyer because of the betrayal he was doing all along. Betrayal - Not sure about it but having a tie with a rival company's attorney and solving cases together is definitely termed as betrayal no matter what the cause is, whether good or bad. After serving the top most law firm as the top lawyer in the city, stepping down as his junior's assistant was not at all a part of his career plan. Well, his boss is getting his revenge too.
It was all messed up like a maze. Each one of them, Anu, Rajesh and Gautham wanted to exit but didn't know how to. They wanted to end this but not sure if they could. All they could and were doing was just blaming oneself for starting a game in spite of knowing its consequences.
Now it's just do or die.
Anu refused to talk to Gautham and again out of fear he left without uttering a word as Anu having food was the only thing he was concerned about. In terms of food, she had everything he gave. One whole week passed the same way. She neither did find her driving force to lead life nor did Gautham give her one. After one tiresome week, she finally had a visitor.
"Where is she?" Rajesh asked Gautham who was sitting on the couch. Gautham didn't like the idea of letting Rajesh meet Anu. He thought their conversation would just add more guilt to Anu. So, Gautham turned him down and told him the reason too.
"I respect your thought of consoling her or talking to her but I don't think it would put her at ease. Don't mind me but let us give her some more time," said Gautham. Rajesh agreed to it and left. He came back after five days. This time also he got the same response from Gautham. With the thought of giving her some more time, he left. It was his brother who passed away but Anu made it seem like it was her brother. Where is the lie though.
Rajesh paid a visit again after a few days. Gautham still had excuses to make but Rajesh was not in position to hear those. This time, he just barged into her room. The first sight he got was Anu in a devastated state. She almost looked as if a ghost possessed her, physically as well as mentally. The ambience was not in a state to heal a person. He sighed heavily and rolled his eyes.
"Do you think locking her in a room would do any help?" he asked Gautham who had no idea how to tackle the situation. Listening to his loud voice, Anu opened her eyes. Rajesh walked over to move the curtains. The positive beam of sun rays entered the room. "Anu, I will give you exactly ten minutes. Go, get ready - "
"Rajesh, please leave me. I don't - "
"Ten minutes is all you have," Rajesh said, leaving the room. Gautham followed him. She did everything she could in those ten minutes. Brushed her teeth, washed her face and changed her dress that was on her for more than three days.
Meanwhile, Rajesh and Gautham had a little talk. "What is your plan?" Gautham asked. Rajesh replied saying, "I am not sure but we got to get her out of this. She can't stick to this for the rest of her life". Gautham felt happy to know that there is someone else who cares about her.
"How did you fight this?" Gautham asked. It is still a wonder as to how Rajesh moved on when Anu is still finding it difficult.
Going back to those thoughts of his sweet little brother, "Life goes on, Gautham," he said, staring at the floor and trying his best not to tear up. All those thoughts stopped when he saw Anu walk out of the room. She sat on the single chair and they sat together on the big one. Looking at her withered face and weak body, Rajesh understood it is very important for him to measure his words.
"Tell me something. Was it really just siblings' relation between you and Karthik or was there something beyond that? Because look at - " he wanted to light up the mood but that was a UNO reverse card. He expected that question to make her smile but she ended up breaking into tears. She cupped her hands in front and cried heavily.
Rajesh was absolutely shocked to see this side of her. He didn't expect her to be this emotional. "Was your objective really to help her?" Gautham whispered in his ears. Rajesh side-eyed Gautham and moved towards Anu.
He knelt before her and slowly wrapped his hands around her. Stuffing her face, she cried as much as possible. Now, it has become an emotional mess. Gautham cried because Anu was crying and Rajesh cried because they both were crying.
One of them had to stay strong to console the other two but none were ready to take that role. Rajesh thought it would be easy because he already helped Priya but that was not the scenario in Anu's case.
"I - I really miss him," Anu said. Though it was not coherent, Rajesh understood it. She continued saying, "He died because of me. I - killed him". The more she was letting it out, the more the grief was building up. Six months is all she spent with him and Karthik is already more than an intern to her.
Rajesh and Gautham just wondered if she could ever get over this.
