I stayed at home for two weeks as I wanted to recover to the fullest and I guess, I did recover to the fullest.
Finally after two weeks I am stepping out and getting the privilege to drive my car. Two weeks ago, when Aditya met me and when I finally acknowledged his struggles, I was in strong determination that my first visit had to be to his house.
Later, I changed my plan and that's a whole different story. I made my way to Devansh's house knowing who's going to be there. Our rival company's CEO is a hothead. At least that is what people talk about.
I went there and knocked on the door as if I am a regular visitor. Their maid opened the door and I was surprised at their style of living. Surely, rich people give off a different vibe!
I walked in and his father was already sitting on the couch. I went late as I expected his father to leave. Maybe I was wrong.
He asked me to sit and I did so.
"Good morning…" I greeted him. "…Sir," I added after a while.
"How are you? Heard that you were hospitalized," he said.
"Um, I fell – "
"In the bathroom?" he completed my sentence. Shaking his head in denial, "I am a lawyer too. I can see those hidden things that you are not willing to show," he said and I was more than embarrassed.
"Your reason?"
"Pardon?"
"Your reason for coming here?" he phrased the question in complete at my request.
"Oh. To meet Devansh," I answered him.
"To spoil his career again?" he said and that absolutely sent chills. "Excuse me?" I spoke.
Honestly, I was being formal but that 'excuse me' was nothing other than giving him another chance to rephrase his statement.
"You know what you have done. So, stop pretending – "
"Sir, with all the due respect, I never forced him to step back. He made a decision on his own and that shows how matured he was than you could ever be". I did not mind calling out this CEO who was not acting like a CEO.
"His decision saved the lives of many and he also prioritised the life of a kid instead of being selfish about winning the case. I don't think I could thank him enough. So, if you call him here for a moment, I will let him know the same thing and take a leave," I said.
He smiled a little and said, "He already heard it". I had 'what' kind of look written on my face. Raising his eyebrows and eyeing behind, he asked me to look behind. When I looked back, I saw him holding cabbage in one hand and carrots in the other one. He was wearing an apron.
Greeting him with a smile, "Hi," I said.
Then we walked into the kitchen and talked for a while. He was cooking and at the same time tolerating my never-ending questions. And then we had lunch together. So sweet of him to cook for me.
Then from there, I made my way to the office to settle a few pending works. True that I went to work but I spent more time with Lavanya and Keerthana Ma'am than working.
Till seven I had fun with them then I logged off. You know what's the beauty of this office lately? I find Aditya everywhere. He left his traces to that point where I can't help but think about him even when I look at an empty chair.
Avoiding these thoughts that are disturbing me, I went to the parking lot. While getting into the car I saw a dark blue car and that reminded me of Aditya again. Without even having a second thought, I drove to his house. I don't know if I am going to regret it or not but I must do this now to avoid future regrets.
In one hour, I reached there and knocked on the door without even hesitating. Aditya opened the door and my eyes automatically fell on the glass he was holding.
So, has he become an alcoholic? Wow!
"Anu?" he said, squinting his eyes. I walked in pushing him aside and the very next sight of the hall room left me speechless.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked.
"Why are you here?" he asked, taking floppy steps towards me. "Wait, is this a dream?" he said, trying to touch me. When he felt my physical presence, he laughed and cried at the same time.
"GOD! What did I do to see this?!" I wondered. I seized his glass of liquor from him and tried my best to convince him to stop drinking.
I won't say it was a success but it wasn't a failure either. "Come on," I grabbed him by his arm. Here I am trying my best to make this guy stand and he keeps stumbling here and there testing my patience which is as thin as paper.
I groaned while placing his arm on my shoulder. "Lord! You are really heavy!" I complained while carrying him to the room. I saw the bedroom across the hallway and it's not going to be an easy task to carry him all the way down the aisle.
When I almost decided to let him sleep on the couch, he pushed me gently saying, "I don't want to sleep here".
So, he throws tantrums too? Great!
Breathing heavily, I pushed him onto the couch with maximum force and he fell on the couch.
I sighed heavily after completing the world's toughest task. I went to his room to bring out his duvet. I opened the door and I saw a huge picture of me on the wall. Analyzing the outfit I wore, it seemed as if he took it when I was asleep. Right. It was the first time we slept together.
My heart skipped a beat at the view of it. I have never seen such a huge picture of mine in my lifetime. Snapping out of it before I fall for him even more, I grabbed his duvet and walked out.
I covered him and caressed his hair while staring at him warmly. He managed to look cute and hot at the same time.
Ten minutes passed by and I was still staring at him not being able to get enough of him. He has this incredible way of making me happy and I absolutely love it.
I wish you were sober!
