It has been one month since she paid the last visit yet it still feels as if she came back to home after a long tiring day. Probably her grandfather's presence was making her feel that way. They both greeted each other with a subtle smile.

Anu silently sat beside Rajesh and Aditya sat beside her. Not like he had no other option. He chose to sit beside her. The fire in her eyes said it all when he sat.

"Let's talk after – " she turned her head to the opposite direction before he could complete. The hearing started with everyone greeting the judge and reciting their opening statement. The new prosecutor for the case started the case.

"Your honor, we are here again to prove that Aditya is indeed a culprit. According to the evidences provided in the last hearing, it is clear that he is the murderer and – "

His words were cut off by the judge. "Don't you think it is our duty to declare that? Mr. Devansh, we would appreciate it if you stick to your role," one of the young judges in the panel said.

He apologized right away and continued. "Now, looking out for the cause as to why he killed his wife, it's because of his…" he gave a long pause and looked at Aditya before completing it.

"...Extramarital affair," he ended the sentence.

That one stupid statement of his paused the entire court for a second. Everyone looked so frozen, particularly Aditya and Rajesh. In the case of Anu, she is the only one who had no impact after listening to that. In fact, Anu was least bothered about his affairs. All she cares about is killing the one who killed Karthik.

"Mr. Vikramaditya killed his wife because she discovered his truth. When she didn't agree on staying silent, he killed her to save his idol image as he had no other option other than killing her," the prosecutor said, getting onto the nerves of many.

"What nonsense!" Aditya exclaimed.

"Objection, your honor," Rajesh stood up but had to sit again as emotions won't have their way in the court. Devansh walked towards Rajesh. "Why get pumped up this quickly? Open your eyes and see the world around," he whispered quietly enough only to let him hear. "As a matter of fact the so-called extramarital affair is with none other than the pride of your law firm," he further added.

Anu and Rajesh looked at each other in shock. Both of them had two different people in their minds. Anu thought it was Lavanya while Rajesh thought it was Keerthana. Little did they know, it was neither of them.

Rajesh was very well prepared for the hearing but he didn't see this coming.

Devansh took a few steps back. "Your honor, the lady who split the lovely couple into two is, his childhood love, his best friend and now his defense attorney, Ms. Anusree," he concluded his statement.

Each one of them in the room who adored Anu lost their patience. Due to his experience in this field, her grandfather could hold it in and being one of the matured CEOs, Lavanya also held it in and Gautham basically saw Devansh's future as he was aware of the consequences for messing up with her.

It was just Aditya and Rajesh on the verge of turning Devansh's fair skin to blue one. Coming to Anu, she is good at maintaining the court decorum. Outside the court whatever happens is a completely different picture.

A judge in the panel couldn't tolerate his attitude. "Mr.Devansh, we would really appreciate it if you actually provide evidence then talk about it," she said.

Analyzing his attitude, he looked well prepared. "Your honor, I would like to call Ms. Anusree into the witness box," he said. While Anu was leaving, Rajesh held her wrist. "Be patient," he whispered, not knowing what kind of person she is.

In the span of a few minutes, she is the witness box taking the oath as to she only speaks truth and nothing else than truth. When she signed up for this, she didn't know this would happen.

The only time she was in the witness box was during her practical classes in her academic year. Apart from that, she never had to get into those. Such a disappointment!
