"Soul?" I got no response after not having heard from him in several hours.

"Soul where are you?" I asked again sitting up and rubbing my eyes, again no response. I stood up and walked to his room.

"Soul?" I opened the door to find no soul.

"What the hell." I said walking back into the kitchen. Aparently I had missed it the first time but a note sat on the counter written with Soul's writing.

"Hey Maka, I'm going out to the arcade with black star, there's some left over noodles from last night." I rolled my eyes. I heard a lock turn from the hallway. It was probably soul. I sat down on the couch with a new book we're reading in English class, Hamlet. I let the door close before I said anything.

"Hey Soul." I said not looking up from the pages.

"Soul?" I asked standing back up and walking through the dark apartment to the kitchen knives, this was definitely not Soul. Something hissed and jumped at me. I ducked and threw a kick at it. I ran over to the light switch and turned it on.

"What the hell?" I said, it was a kieshan, how come i had not seen his soul, not even felt it?

"That isn't a keishan, it has no soul! Then what is it?" I wondered when suddenly it reached up, took one of the large knives and threw it. I moved just in time but the knife got the side of my arm and the wall behind, ripping a sleeve and splatering blood against the white.

"Aah!" I yelled grabbing my arm, I slid down the wall in pain. I heard the door open and slam shut. The thing hissed and started to come at me, I scrunched tightly against the wall.

"Maka!" I heard Soul yell from the hallway.

"He's too far away to save me." I thought. He was suddenly in front of me, his arm a scythe. The thing jumped and Soul's arm sliced through him. There was no soul that dropped, what was he?

"Maka are you okay?" Soul's arm was back to normal again.

"My arm, soul he got it." I said weekly, soul sat down in from of me.

"Stay here i'll get the bandages." I felt the warm blood ooze quickly from my arm onto the floor and my clothes.

"Soul get the stitches." I said weakly.

"That's going to hurt Maka are you sure?" He asked popping his head out of the bathroom, I nodded.

"Maka I can't do that, I can't sew, stein can do it, I can't do it." He came in with bandages instead.

"Steins creepy." I said weakly laughing, he chuckled a bit agreeing with me. He went to the fridge for a bottle of water and returned. He handed it to me.

"Here take this, stay with me Maka, don't pass out." He said ripping the short sleeve off and threw it to the side, the bloody sleeve sat in a pile on the floor. His cold hands began cleaning the blood from my arm, I breathed heavily and stayed awake with all my might.

"What brought that bastard in here in the first place?" He had said, maybe to himself it seemed, but I looked at him. He was sweating, the perspiration glistened off his forehead and lips, his scarlet red eyes were something of maroon now. He threw his letterman jacket from him revealing a v-neck royal blue t-shirt and his pendant. He started to pick up the bandages, I saw something I've never seen on him before. A long red, kind of purple line on his forearm.

"How have I not seen that before?" I asked nodding towards his arm. His face grew pale and he looked away only for a second though before taking the bandages and gauze. He tapped three pieces of gauze to the wound before wrapping any bandages around it. The blood showed through.

"Soul what is that, tell me." I demanded worryingly.

"It's nothing to worry about now, you're injured so shut up and drink the water." He said angrily, then he froze, "sorry I didn't mean it..." He let out a long breath. I put the water bottle down and drew my hand to his face. He seemed surprised when I locked my fingers in his soft white hair, but he kept going making sure my wound was securely wrapped. My entire upper arm as wrapped in bandages, it didn't hurt anymore. But we still sat there, my hand in his hair, we were inches apart. He looked down, I slid my hand to his shoulder.

"You don't have to tell me, not until you're ready to." I said pulling him into a hug. I felt his hand graze up and down my back and his other held onto me tightly. I can't remember how long we stayed like this until I fell asleep on him.
