Snowy Adventures

"Are you sure about this Maka?" Soul said as he took my black coat from the closet and a scarf that sat in the pocket.

"Of course Soul, I haven't been able to go outside all winter." I whined from my room as I pulled on a black long sleeve shirt over my thin white T-shirt. My blue jeans that kept my legs warm but slightly dragged against my heels which I ignored as I walked out putting a red winter hat to keep my ears warm. Soul was dressed almost the same except he didn't wear anything on his head. He held the jacket out for me to slip into, after I did he wrapped the scarf around my neck.

"Is your letterman jacket going to keep you warm?" I asked, he opened it up showing a thick, red, sweatshirt under it. I nodded my head and grabbed my purse before we walked out.

"Here Maka put these on so your hands won't freeze." Soul handed me a pair of gloves that opened at the fingers but were able to pull the mitten over it.

"Thanks Soul, where's black star and tsubaki?" I asked looking around, suddenly something cold hit my back.

"Yahoo! Be prepared to be beaten by the amazing Black Star!" Black star yelled, I rolled my eyes and turned around getting a snowball in my face, I heard soul laughing.

"Damn it Soul!" I yelled at him and picked some snow up myself and threw it at him, got him in the face, Tsubaki and black star laughed.

"Okay guys I know that having a snowball fight is not what we came out here for." Soul said wiping his face.

"Why not since we're here?" Black star said.

"It's that last weekend of winter break, Black Star, lets do something peaceful for once." Tsubaki said, I nodded and so did Soul. The two of them hopped down and began walking with us down the snowy path.

"How are you feeling, Maka?" Tsubaki asked me.

"I'm feeling better but I'm going to be out the rest of the month, Lord Death wants me to be in perfect condition before I am able to come back." I answered kicking a pile of snow as we walked.

"Hey, where are we going anyways? Soul didn't tell me." I asked, none of them answered.

"So none of you know where we're going is that it? Or are you guys just not going to tell me?" I looked at all of them.

"Yup." Soul winked and I rolled my eyes, we walked into the park and sat on a bench, I heard a noise from close by and turned around to see a horse drawn carriage.

"Oh my god how did you two know?" I said turning to tsubaki and black star, Tsubaki laughed.

"It was actually Soul's idea, he said you haven't been on one since you were a kid." She smiled pointing to the two seated carriage the beautiful white speckled horse drew.

"Wait what about you two?" I asked them.

"We've got to go practice, see you tomorrow for Kid's party!" Black Star said waving goodbye. As soon as they were gone we got into the carriage, Soul lifted me in before getting in after me. I punched his arm.

"Ow what was that for?" He asked rubbing where I got him.

"Pulling me off my bed today... And this." I said sticking my tongue out at him and turning around. I felt something wrap over my shoulder, a blanket. I turned at look at Soul, his hair was littered with snowflakes, mine must be also.

"You were shivering, thought you needed a blanket." I felt his hand on my shoulder, I realized how close we were to each other our right sides touched, even our heads. I've never been this close to him. The horse gave the carriage a soothing rock to our ride. I laid my head on Soul's shoulder.

"Are you tired?" I heard him whisper to me.

"Nope, just comfortable." I said, but slightly shifted, "but you could put your arm somewhere else." I said as sweetly as I could. He nodded then suddenly I felt a hand wrap around my waist, it was shocking but comfortable at the same time.

"Thank you, Soul." I whispered up into his ear, I saw him smile and look down at me, his ruby red eyes piercing through the white surroundings.

"Anytime, Maka Albarn." He put his forehead to mine and smiled. Blood pumped through me, my cheeks must have turned red.

"Maka stop! You can't fall in love with him! No!" My head screamed yet my face remained calm. He lifted his head away as we watched the scenery go by. I laid my head on his shoulder and he laid his on top of mine. I got colder so I wrapped my arm around his warm torso, the smell of coffee and cologne stuck on him from this morning. I closed my eyes for what seemed like minutes but when I opened them the sun was beginning to set.

"Hey Maka, want to go back now?" Soul asked me and I nodded my head, we rode home as silent as we were before. As soon as we reached the front steps Soul paid the driver and picked me up, holding me bridal style, and walked us into the house. I was so tired I didn't move. We got inside and he set me on the couch.

"Not to be a perv or anything but do you want me to take those off so you don't overheat?" He pointed to my long sleeve stuff. I nodded. Be began unbuttoning my jacket looking up at me as he rambled on about black star. He gently took the scarf and hat off of me, playing with my hair in the process before taking off my heavy long sleeve.

"Thanks Soul, I appreciate it." I sprawled out on the couch in my jeans and t-shirt. I heard him say something but I closed my eyes and entered sleep.
