I quietly slipped the key into the key hole and turned the knob into the dark hallway. I tip toed up the stairs into the kitchen taking out a container of rice and turning on the stovetop on in the dim stovetop light.

"Where the hell were you for the past few hours Maka?" Soul asked from behind me, I jumped at his voice as it spoke through the darkness.

"What the hell soul don't do that you know I don't like to be crept up on!" I squealed throwing my jacket at him. He turned the light on, slipping my jacket on top of the chair at the table.

"Maka seriously where were you, I've been worried sick!" He came closer pulling me towards him, his hands on my shoulders.

"I've been out Soul calm down." I said pushing him away.

"Maka stop doing that, I didn't know where you went." He held me in a hug and kissed my cheek.

"Soul, please." I wriggled out of his grasp, turning around to fry the rice.

"What's wrong, you never do that." Souls asked leaning against the counter.

"Nothing Soul, just go back to bed." I said ignoring his eyes.

"Then kiss me." I froze.

"Soul stop it please." I cringed saying this.

"Maka tell-" I cut him off.

"Soul it was a mistake!" I said, my eyes burning.

"What?" He said stepping in front of me.

"It was a mistake I'm sorry, we should never have done that and we never will again okay? Listen we can't ever do that again." I said beginning to feel tears rush my eyes.

"I knew it would be a bad idea I knew it!" Soul yelled still looking at me. I shook my head at his angered face, I saw his eyes eyes grow tired and close.

"S-soul p-please don't," I grabbed onto his jacket, his eyes were angered and upset and ready to run, "No, not like this. Don't go please not again."

"Stay here where I know you're safe." He started to walk away but I grabbed his arm.

"Soul stop!" I said.

"Maka stop!" He pushed me back into the stove pushing the pan back and landing my bare arm on the hot spot burning my arm.

"Aaah!" I fell clutching my scorching arm, tears filled my eyes as I looked up he was gone the door shut behind him.

"Damn it." I watched my skin as it glistened and scanned over.
