The Question

"Ugh I hate the taste of beer, never let me get that again." I laughed hanging on to Soul's arm as we walked down town around three thirty in the afternoon.

"Thought you wouldn't." He laughed kissing my beanie covered head.

"Are you sure you don't want to come in with me?" I asked standing outside the boutique.

"I'm sure, I want it to be a surprise tonight. I do want you to call me when you're ready, the store I'm going to is down the street." He smiled kissing me.

"I will, see you in an hour." I said. I walked in seeing different colored dresses of different sizes and shapes.

"Hi can I help you?" A lady asked me.

"Yeah I was looking for a dress but I don't know what to look for." I said looking around.

"You're my favorite type of customer, come to the back an I'll start measuring you." She said waving me back. I followed her into a decently big room with 3 mirrors.

"Please take off your jacket." She said getting a measuring tape out and measuring my shoulders, chest and waist.

"I'd say you're a size 6, do you have a preference in color?" She asked.

"Black, preferably." I answered. She nodded and walked out. I sat down and pulled my hair up to a bun and sat for 10 minutes until she came back.

"Do you care which order you try them on?" She asked, I shook my neck. She had me try on a short flouncy skirt, long sleeved dress. I shook my head. She put me in a mermaid dress with one shoulder. I shook my head.

"I have an idea." She said smiling. She handed me a floor length, silky dress with a haltered mesh instead of sleeves. I turned around to look in the mirror.

"This is beautiful, absolutely stunning." I said turning around in it.

"Here, I got something that'll make it even better." She left quickly and came back in minutes handing me black 4 inch heels that trap around the ankle, which I put on instantly.

"Is this for a boy?" The woman asked.

"Yes," I smiled in the mirror.

"He's a lucky man," She laughed, "my name is Aaron."

"I'm Maka." I smiled shaking her hand.

"Nice to meet you, make sure you come back here when you need a white dress." Aaron laughed.

"I will, now first, how much are the dress and shoes cost?" I asked posing slightly in the mirror.

"Together, $750." She said.

"Perfect, i'll take them." I said.

"Okay, I'll take them up to the cash register while you get dressed." She said helping me unzip and I took of the shoes after. I quickly put my leggings and black tank top then my black leather jacket and my blue beanie and scarf and walked out to the desk.

"Alright $750." Aaron said.

"Yes ma'am," I said taking out eight $100 bills and Aaron returned me a $50.

"Have a good date." Aaron waved me out. I took out my cellphone and dialed Soul. I waited 3 rings when I felt arms wrap around me.

"Soul don't do that!" I laughed as he put me down.

"Come on let's go, I want to leave at 5:30 since our reservations are at 6." He laughed pulling me to a cab.

"32A Reedworth Street." Soul said. We rode in silence and as soon as we got home I went into the bathroom and started a shower.

"Getting ready? We've got an hour." He laughed.

"Yeah I know, but it's going to take me about that time for me to be ready. Now if you'd excuse me." I said kissing him while brining in my strapless bra and underwear along with make up and hair crap. I showered and started doing hair and make up then got dressed. The last thing i put on was my ruby red lipstick. Soul knocked at the door.

"M'lady, it is time." He said. I laughed and smiled at my golden blonde hair that hung naturally wavy at my back. I walked out to see Soul's jaw drop.

"Y-you l-look a-absolutely s-stunning." He hardly got out.

"Have some trouble there deary?" I kissed his cheek leaving a lipstick mark.

"You stole my words, and my breath." He said slipping on my jacket and kissing my neck. We rode to the fancy restaurant and waited for the waiter to come by.

"Hello may I start you off with drinks?" The waiter asked.

"I'll have a glass of white wine." I said, he nodded.

"I'll have the same." Soul said.

"I'll be right back with your drinks." The waiter left. I looked at Soul and saw him sitting nervously waiting for something.

"So soul, why did you take me here?" I asked.

"Because," he stood in and knelt on one knee in front of me, "I can't live without you, and I don't ever want to. You changed my life, you made it worth it." he started taking something out of his pocket and opened it revealing a silver band with a diamond in it.

"Maka Albarn, will you marry me?" He asked, I felt everyone's eye on us as m tears came to my eyes.

"Yes, yes, a million times yes!" I said kissing him as he hugged me, people in the background clapped.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you too!" Soul kissed me.
