Lane ( chapter 28 )

"Y/n.."

"Yeah?"

" they know .."

" They know ?."

" yes they do .."

The smell of rubbing alcohol and latex filled your nose as you regained your senses . You opened your eyes slowly and you looked around biking your eyes as you adjusted to the light . You felt light and highly relaxed , you were a little giggly and weren't very aware of your surroundings.
You opened your eyes and smiled unknowingly and you looked around with half lidded eyes.

" She's awake ."
You heard a voice .
You looked around and saw a masked man along with ghost . You giggled as you saw them and you smiled . You looked down and saw you had an IV in your arm and you weren't in your normal clothes but instead in a nightgown . You saw a nurse walk in with a clip board.
" don't worry she will be okay but she will be a little loopy since we did give her some morphine."
The nurse said as she looked down at you.
Ghost nodded in understanding and he saw the nurse check in on you and she made sure you were Okay .

Once you looked okay you the nurse left you alone and you looked over to see ghost sitting in the chair next to your bed and you also saw the man in the sniper veil again.
" hi.."
You said while giving them a smile.
" Hey kid ."
Ghost said softly  as he stroked your head a little and looked down at you .
He was extremely worried about you before , when the shitty shadows had told him about you and what they had done ghost couldn't take it anymore and he managed to break out of his binds and he beat the living shit out of them .
He didn't let them live , he beat them to the point they weren't breathing just to get to you. When he had seen Konig with you he had originally planned to kill him but since he was a rescuer he kept low and didn't.

" You look funny .."
You giggled as you reached your hand out and brushed your hand over ghosts mask . He didn't bother you but In fact actually let you do it . He didn't want to spook you at all and he just wanted to make sure you were okay with him being there with you . Konig gave  a little nod towards Ghost and ghost gave a nod back as well and he left the room leaving it to just you and ghost . The others figured they visit you tomorrow since they didn't know  how you would react to them all being there and they checked in regularly with the nurse to see how you were .

Ghost sat there and he thought about what you had said and he wanted to get you away from it. Technically he was your legal guardian as well so he could've just kept you with him as well but he thought about taking you with him on a little break to get you away from all the fighting and such .

Ghost sighed and got up from his seat and he went towards the door but he heard you .
" can you stay ?,"
You asked , still being somewhat loopy.
You moved a little and made room on your medical bed and you patted it, gesturing for him to stay with you . He turned around and looked at you and hesitated but he gave in and walked over. He hesitantly slipped in next to you and he was straight and stiff .  you took a deep breath and you closed your eyes feeling secure and comfortable . He was laying next to you and he saw how you were finally calmed and relaxed and he smiled to himself. He made sure not to touch or move your arms since they were the most injured and he made sure your bandages were okay and he let out a little shaky breath .

He figured after you healed and got better he would get a mandated break from Laswell and take you to his home to stay there for a few weeks so you could have a break from the horrors of the military. It was about after 2 minutes he felt two arms snake around his waist and he looked down to see you making yourself comfortable . He didn't know how moving your arms didn't hurt but then he remembered the morphine they gave you . He gently wrapped one arm around you and he stared at the ceiling . He was confused as to why he cared so much , he didn't know exactly why and his questions were still pondering deeply .

'' Look at these two , it seems like Ghost has softened up.''
Soap spoke as he saw Ghost lying down with you peacefully .
Him and the others saw through the window of your room and they were glad you were alive but they were mad at price. They were mad about what he had said and they were mad that he let you go on the mission but they wanted to bring it up later . The nurse came from the hallways and saw the four men standing in front of your room and she gave them a small smile.
'' i assume your visitors for the young one ?.''
She spoke and they all nodded.

She gave a nod back and flicked her pen open and she wrote down some stuff on the clipboard before knocking on your door and walking in . you were still asleep and Ghost was up keeping watch as he did . Ghost saw the woman and he looked at her making her a little nervous and he let out a little huff .
'' I see she trusts you more..glad to see she is resting . she will be out of med bay by next week.''
The nurse said quietly , making sure not to wake you up .
Ghost gave and nodded and he watched as the other four men walked in the room. The nurse walked out leaving it to just be the five of you and she went back to doing her duties as well and checked on other  patients .

'' someone softened up.''
Soap chuckled quietly earning a glare from Ghost .
'' she didn't want to be alone and she requested this so i obliged .''
Ghost said simply yet sternly.
Ghost wasn't the type to show his softness or care but he truly did deep down . he was a Ghost in the battle field but outside of the field he was a sweet, gentle man . he's been through alot so he doesn't know how to show affection much or comfort the greatest but he manages .

'' We should head back later when she's awake , she needs the rest .''
Gaz spoke and soap agreed.
'' Well be here on base , if anything will come and get you Ghost .''
Price spoke and he gave another nod before heading out .
Soap and gaz whispered her goodbyes and left the room quietly leaving it to be just you and Ghost again. He had many things run through his head but he calmed and fell asleep as well , its been a long long while so him and you needed it .
