Light ( chapter 29)

You opened your eyes and you looked around your room to see ghost sitting in his chair again .
He had moved while you were sleeping since you were already out resting and he didn't want to bother you or wake you if he accidentally moved . He looked over towards you to see you were up and he scooted his chair closer to your bed and smiled under his balaclava . You looked at him and tried to sit yourself up and you struggled a bit to do so an ghost noticed this and gently placed his hands under your arms and he lifted you up and your back was against the headboard of the medical bed.

'' Hi Ghost..''
You said quietly as you winced in pain.
'' Be careful , your arms are gonna be sore for a while..''
He said as he looked at your bandaged arms.
'' am i going on any more missions ?.''
You said worriedly .
'' No ..''
He spoke and he thought about telling you something but caved in and told you anyway.

'' Listen y/n I'm gonna ask laswell something , maybe such as you being able to take a break for a while . maybe come with  me on a vacation of sorts ?.''
He said softly and your eyes widened.
You looked up at him with a little groggy happy smile and yawned .
'' thats sounds fun..i would totally do that with you .''
You spoke quietly .
He ruffled your hair a little causing you  to smile and he handed you a tray off of the nearby desk.
It had some food on it ( whatever food you preferred ) along with some water and painkillers.

You placed the tray on your lap and you cracked open your water and drank it . you don't remember the last time you drank water but man did it feel nice . you took a few gulps of water and you set the bottle down and you looked up at Ghost and smiled softly .
'' thank you Ghost..it means alot .''
You said sheepishly .
Its been soo fucking long since someone has acutally given a shit about you . you've been dealing with so much lately. The only two people that have made your life actually bearable were ghosts and soap . Gaz and soap had helped a little as well which you were very thankful for but it wasn't as much as Ghost did . Ghost was like a true family member to you .

You dug into your food and you started to eat until you thought back to what had happened yesterday night . Who was the man in the veil ?.
'' uh Ghost .''
You started .
'' yeah kid ?''
He said confused as he looked at you .
You paused for a moment and set down your eating utensil and you thought for a split second before answering .
'' who was the tall guy before ?.''
You asked , having vague images of him flash through your mind.
'' His name is Konig , he's the one who rescued you .''
Ghost spoke and you looked down thinking and you nodded.

That night when you were curled up in the cell , he was the tall man that had gotten you out of the rotten place . you remember shepherd being there and your heart sank and your blood went cold.
'' is he alive ?.''
You asked worriedly .
'' konig ?.''
Ghost was confused .
'' no...shepherd...he was there when I was in that place ..''
You said quietly , not wanting to bring up the subject much .
It bothered you a lot to know what had gone on and to what had happened . you felt as if it was your fault that you got captured but you were also relieved because you had made those codes.

You sighed a little before looking back at Ghost and picking up your tray and eating a little bit again.
'' He's dead , we handled it alright . do not worry about it y/n.''
He reassured you softly and you nodded .
Ghost sat with you and he kept you company as you ate your food and you and him shared some conversations about random stuff just to pass the time .
'' what's your favorite  animal ?.''
You asked as you finished up your plate .
'' I really like wolves , they seem cool .''
Ghost replied and you let out a hum of agrement .
" The others are gonna visit later , including konig."
He said and you are a little okay .

" shit .. I gotta pee."
You said as you swung your legs on the edge of your bed and you groaned in pain . Ghost powers your bed and You stepped your feet onto the cold floor and you shuttere at the coldness and you stood up a little wobbly and grabbed onto Ghosts shoulder.
" Are you sure you can walk ?."
Ghost asked as he cupped the back of your arm , holding onto you making sure you didn't fall .

You nodded and you let go of him and he watched as you walked slowly to the bathroom.
He knew he could've easily helped you and walked you to the bathroom but he knew that you needed to walk on your own to get used to the feeling again because he knew your arms and legs were sore from what had happened.

You take slow yet steady steps and Ghost pushed the machine attached to you that was holding you IV and as you made your way to the door as ghost opened it for you and guided you in.
" I'll wait outside you ya ."
He says as he sat back in his chair near your bed.
He wanted to give you as much privacy as possible and he wanted to make sure you were comfortable .

You went inside the bathroom and you closed the door but it cracked slightly open , about a sliver and you took a deep breath and you looked in the mirror and saw the white slightly bloodied bandages wrapped on your arms . You had been through a lot ik the past few weeks that you've been here but at the same time it was also the best you have lived yet the worst.  You really hoped that Laswell would let ghost take you so you and him can go chill on a vacation . You thought about going to the beach .

You thought about the warm breeze hitting against your body and you thought about the gritty sand Between your toes as you walked. You thought it would be a nice way to relax . Maybe even build a sand castle or bury  ghost in the sand and leave him there for a bit to suffer slowly as you giggled and watched . You had to admit that it was a little hilarious watching Ghost be so gentle with you. It's like you were made out of a thin material but Ghost was being more respectful than you could have ever imagined. You were so thankful for his presence.

When you first met ghost he was a complete dick but now he's like your best friend in a way. You and him have grown closer to each other than you could ever imagine and you knew that he was only that way because he didn't like change at first but now he is super protective over you.
This was like a storm , it's dark and gloomy at first but now it has passed over and has shown a much more positive and clear side .
