Thursday evening- Inessa

Inessa sat in her last class of the day at college, her eyes drooping with exhaustion. She had been studying for hours, trying to keep up with the demands of her coursework. Just as she was about to drift off, the bell rang loudly through her classroom, jolting her back to reality. She let out a long sigh and began gathering her belongings together, preparing to leave for the day.

As she threw her backpack on and took out her phone, she opened a chat message with her friend Zariah and texted her, asking where she was since she had skipped class that day. Zariah quickly replied, telling her that she was waiting in front of the campus.

Inessa shut her phone and made her way to the campus exit, eager to meet up with her friend. But before she could make it outside, she was stopped by Jack, a friend of hers. She noticed that he had been staring at her chest again, which made her uncomfortable.

"Hey Ness, how are you?" he said, putting his arm around her.

"I'm... good, thanks for asking. How are you?" she replied, pulling his arm off her shoulder and patting his chest.

"I'm good, thanks for asking. Where are you heading?" he asked.

Inessa sighed, feeling irritated. "I'm heading home like every normal human," she said, but her Russian accent slipped out.

"Oh, yeah. Can I walk you?" he asked, scratching the back of his neck.

"No, thank you. I need to go. Bye," she said quickly, eager to get away from him.

Before he could answer, she walked away, muttering "podonok" under her breath in Russian. She made her way outside, where she was suddenly startled by someone yelling "BOO!" behind her.

"Chert voz'mi!" Inessa yelled in Russian, her heart pounding with fear.

"Gosh, you stupid fucker, you scared the living soul out of me," she said, laughing at her friend's prank.

"I got you good, didn't I?" Zariah said, grinning.

"Yeah, you did. Now let's go home," Inessa said, ready to leave campus for the day.

The fun thing was that Zariah and Inessa lived close to each other, so they just separated their ways when they came to the street they lived in. After a while, they said their goodbyes and made plans to meet up again the next day. As Inessa made her way home, she couldn't help but feel relieved that the day was finally over.

Inessa put her key in the keyhole to unlock the door and stepped inside her house. "Mom, Dad, I'm home," she yelled out.

"Yes, honey, come to the dinner table, please," her mom replied.

As Inessa made her way to the dining table, she noticed two men sitting there. "Who are they?" she asked her mother as she took her seat.

"They're very respected people," her mother replied, making Inessa nod in understanding.

"Well, yeah," Inessa said, feeling confused.

"We're sorry, milyy, but you'll be going to Mr. Valentino forever," her dad said, and her mom glared at him.

"Because your father here couldn't pay this man! He used all the money he STOLE from him for beer," her mother said, and her father looked down in shame.

"Oh, world," Inessa muttered, rubbing her head in disbelief.

She couldn't cry, but anger and frustration bubbled up inside her as she looked down at her hands. "What about college, Mom?" she asked.

"You'll still be going, I promise," her mother said reassuringly, and Inessa let out a sigh of relief.

"Go make your suitcase. You're leaving today," her father said coldly, and Inessa glared at him.

It was because of him and his drinking problem that she was in this shitty position. All because of him, she had to leave everything behind and start a new life.

As she made her way to her room, she felt a sense of sadness and anger wash over her. She couldn't believe that her life had turned upside down so quickly. But she knew that she had to be strong and face the challenges that lay ahead.

Inessa began to pack her things, trying to keep her emotions in check. She couldn't let her parents see her weakness. She knew that she had to be brave and face this new life head-on.

As she finished packing, she walked out of her room and looked at her parents one last time. She knew that she had to leave them behind, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of betrayal.

With a heavy heart, Inessa left her house and started a new chapter in her life. She didn't know what the future held for her, but she was determined to make the best of it.
