Kiara woke up the next day around midday. No, no we're not going back to this she thought as she realised JJ wasn't there. She frantically got up and raced into the kitchen.

"Afternoon" JJ remarked

Kiara let go of the breath she didn't realise she was holding and then let out a little laugh.

"Afternoon" she replied in a funny voice whilst taking a seat at the table.

"Cereal? It's all we got" offering his guest some food.

"Ooo yes please my favourite" she smiled

He laughed at her and grabbed a bowl.

"So, erm, are we going to talk about.... Last night?" Kie asked nervously

"What about it?" JJ replied very casually.

"JJ?" She raised her eyebrows at him.

"What. Shit happens, it's no big deal. Really " he said pouring her cereal into the bowl.

"At least tell me why you went round there. I thought you hated your dad?" She asks gently but also curious.

"Yeah I do really. My dads an asshole but.... He's still my dad."

"And I'm just the idiot for always believing he'll change."

"Hey, your not an idiot"

"Yeah, I am. He called me last night, said he was getting straight, sorting himself out. I should've known really, he isn't capable of it."

"Everyone's capable JJ. You have to believe that. People can change, if they want to"

"Not him. He's lied to me my entire life, why should it be any different now huh?" He laughs sadly.

Kiara hated seeing him sad, it hurt her heart. She walked over and embraced him in a hug.

"It's ok" she whispered.
