Blurring the lines ~ Jiara

Midnight talks

It's been a few weeks since their brief interaction and surf session, and JJ and Kie haven't really seen each other. JJ's always hanging out with his friends, and Kie's busy avoiding hers.

I mean they had no reason to , they weren't really friends, more of an acquaintance really. Well that's what they told themselves. But the truth is they had enjoyed each other's company in a different way than ever before.

It's 1 in the morning and Kiaras house has turned into a war zone. Her and her parents all screaming at the top of there lungs.

Kiara loved her parents, but they didn't understand her. They didn't get why she didn't want the same things that they wanted for her.

" you didn't have to be so rude to that lovely boy kiara !!" Her mum shouted

"RUDE! HE WAS A NARCISSISTIC PIG!" She screamed back at her.

" and he wasn't 'lovely' at all, far from it, he was trying it in with me the whole evening" she adds sarcastically.

Her mum sighs
"Would it have killed you to at least try with him!"

" I can't be fake mum, I have to be myself!"

Her mum rolls her eyes at the comment.

Kiara sees and is instantly angry again.
" AND THATS THE REAL PROBLEM ISN'T IT MUM, YOU DON'T WANT ME TO BE BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE ME NOW, WHO I'VE BECOME!"

"FINE!" Anna screams

"YOU'RE RIGHT, I DONT LIKE IT, IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED TO HERE"

Kie starts to make a beeline for the front door.

"YOU'RE AN UNGRATEFUL BRAT KIARA!" He mum shouts after her as she runs to her car.

She slams her car door shut and puts her head in her hands. She cry's a little and finally starts the ignition, tears still streaming down her face.

Kiara just drove, she didn't really know where she was going but ended up at the beach. She walked down to the water and sat at the edge.

She just sat there for a while, in silence. Nothing but sounds of the waves crashing could be heard and that's how she liked it.

Until " hey you okay down there?" Someone said loudly in the distance as they strolled towards her. As they got closer Kiara realised it was JJ.

"What are you doing here" she sniffs

"Kiara, I didn't realise it was you. Well I was just taking a swim" he replies.

"At night?"

" of course, it's the best time for it"

"Don't you ever sleep?" She questions

" sometimes" he giggles quietly and offers her a hand. She takes it and he helps her stand up.

"So I think the bigger question is , what are you doing here?" JJ asks.

He notices her glossed eyes and wet face. " you don't have answers that" he adds

"It's fine honestly, I'm just here because it's where I feel most peaceful, especially when things go to shit"

" well I can understand that" JJ responds.

" do you want me to take you home?" He adds

"You've got a car?"

" we'll no, I walked here, but it's nice to offer isn't it" he smirks

" well do you want me to take you home then, I've got my car" she laughs

" well what about you, will you be ok going home?" He asks curiously

" oh I'm not going home" kiara says bluntly

" well where are you going then?"

She shrugs her shoulders slightly and looks off into the distance. "I don't know" she whispers.

" come back with me if you like"

"What?"

" well I'm staying with John B but he's at Sarah's tonight so "

" is it really pathetic if I accept" she replies wiping her face.

He just gives her a warm smile and gestures in the direction of her car. They drive back to the chateaux.

" so this is it" JJ exclaimed excitedly.

" wow, it's nice, really nice" Kiara replies softly

She was exhausted after all that screaming, arguing and crying form earlier and her eyes felt overwhelmingly heavy.

She yawned as JJ shows her into the first room containing the kitchen and a sofa sitting area. Kie plonks herself down onto the sofa, as JJ talks in the background. Her eyes start closing and She feels herself starting to fall asleep.

JJ looks over and sees how tired she is. He brings a blanket over and drapes it over her.

" good night " he says quietly

He stands up to leave for his room.

" goodnight JJ"
