The next morning I knew what I had to do.
Call Astrophel.
That's all I thought about that morning.
So, after Emmerson woke up, I told them all about Astrophel and the first thing they said when they heard about Astrophel was 'This guy is too good to be true! C'mon, Zephyr! Are you sure he's not a hallucination?'.
To which I responded 'Hah! There's no way! My hallucinations don't last that long, idiot!'.
The only idiot there, was me. I looked for his number in my contact list, but couldn't find it. But I was too obsessed with him to not have his number written down somewhere, just in case I lose my phone and lose my contacts, or I delete the number by mistake, yada yada.
And so, I call the number, but...
Instead of Astrophel an old lady picks up the phone. An old lady that sounded like she smoked all her life.
Emmerson laughed and told me:'That's your man's voice? He sounds like he smokes more than you do!'.
The old lady heard them, of course, and, I quote, she told Emmerson to 'fuck off' and then ended the call on us. Sort of vitriolic if you ask me.
Emmerson bursted out laughing, but I began crying, thinking that Astrophel was just an asshole and he gave me the wrong number.
'I guess that makes the both of us idiots now', I stated. I was wrong, but let me have it.
We both went to the kitchen so we could prepare ourselves some breakfast, but I saw someone out the window....
It was Astrophel....
'That's Astrophel! You can see him, Emmerson, can't you?', I said.
Emmerson, in a pusillanimous tone, told me that there was no one out the window.
As I try to comprehend the truth, Astrophel transformed into what was once the jester I saw when I was a child.
And then I realized, Astrophel was just a friction of my imagination.
'You were right, Emmerson! He's just a hallucination!', I stated.
Me and Emmerson cuddled on the couch while they were comforting me.
