Luz the Karate Kid

Chapter 5

Luz slowly woke up to see that she was in a house that was not hers. She looked around to see she was on a red couch next to her was a table with medical supplies. She saw shelfs with some antiques and saw that she was in a living room that was attached to a kitchen where a smell of something sweet was coming from. Luz slowly lifted herself up as she felt bandages around her body suddenly Eda came back into the room holding a tea. "Hey kiddo glad to see your awake." Eda said as she handed Luz the tea.

    "Thanks uh what happened?" Luz said roughly, drinking the tea. "Some kids were beating the crap out of you and I saw this from my diner so I came and helped you. What did you do to deserve that?" Eda said. "Uh let's just say one of the boys doesn't like how close his ex-girlfriend and I are even though we're just friends." Luz said.

   "Dang that's messed up kiddo but I don't think that's what's causing them to act aggressive towards you. I was watching their fighting style and it seems whoever taught them that fighting style is a sensei who only focuses on revenge and cheating. Eda said Luz nodded, then she had another question.

    "Where did you learn to fight like that?" Luz asked Eda. "Oh that I learned karate when I was younger and trained a lot till I was eighteen and couldn't really do much so I opened the dinner." Eda said. "Given the situation, I was wondering if you can teach me karate." Luz said. "Wh-what me are you crazy?" Eda said. "Please Eda these boys are gonna keep beating me up until I most likely stop being friends with his ex-girlfriend." Luz said. "

     "Why don't we try talking to their sensei first and see if he can get him to control his students." Eda asked. "We?" Luz questioned. "Yeah me and you that way I can be a witness." Eda said. "Thanks Eda oh no my mom and friend's don't know what or where I am." Luz said, starting to get worried. "It's okay Luz I messaged your mom about the problem and she said it's best you stay here and your friends went to your house so Camila told them what happened. Let's just say they're all worried, especially that girl with lavender hair." Eda said, causing Luz to blush.

     'Amity was worried about me?' Luz thought. Just then black cat with white on his head came down a set of stairs. "Oh there you are king." Eda said. "Anyways rest up Luz we got a big day tomorrow especially since we're gonna confront the bullies." Eda said getting a blanket and pillow for Luz and putting it over her. "Thanks Eda." Luz said tiredly letting sleep consume her.

     The next morning Luz woke up sore from the injuries. She got from the smell of bacon and eggs from the kitchen to see Eda who was in her uniform making breakfast. "Hey kiddo hungry?" Eda asked to which in fact Luz was hungry. Eda smiled and gave Luz a plate and started eating. "Slow down kiddo." Eda said as Luz finished her food. "Okay let's go confront them." Eda said as finished her breakfast and started heading toward the door. "Let's go kiddo." Eda said. Luz got up and started walking to the door still in her costume. "But first let's take you home to get you changed and showered." Eda said.

     After driving Luz home to shower and change. Eda and Luz, now wearing a purple striped shirt with khaki pants and red shoes, went to the dojo. Eda and Luz entered the the dojo to see the boys and girls training Luz saw that Hunter has a bruise, Daniel in a cast and Dale,Jacob and Matthew having bandages and bruises. Hunter noticed Luz and Eda and started looking at them and not listening to his sensei. "ALRIGHT CLASS AS ALWAYS THIS DOJO SHOWS NO MERCY NO MATER WHO THE ENEMY." The sensei noticed Hunter not looking.

     "THE ENEMY DESERVES NO WEAKENESS WHAT IS THE PROBLEM MR.WHITTENBANE." The sensei yelled at Hunter. "You got visitors sensei Phillip there the ones who attacked me ." Hunter whispered. Phillip looked to see Eda and Luz ''Everyone spar with one another Miller watch over Wittebane your with me." Phillip said as he walked over to Luz and Eda Hunter following behind.

     "What is the matter of this intrusion?" Philip asked. "I want your students to stop picking on this girl." Eda said confidently. "Ah so you're the one that injured my star students for following my philosophy." Phillip said. "They attacked an innocent girl." Eda said. "So the girl can't defend herself." Phillip said casually. "If it's a 1 v 1 match then yes but 5 v 1 then no." Eda said. "So what do you want to do a 1 v 1 right now Hunter do you feel like doing a match?" Phillip asked Hunter. "Yes sensei." Hunter said getting ready.

    "No no the kid can barely defend herself as is, that's not fair she needs time to heal and train." Eda said. "Well, how do you think we should settle this?" Philip asked. "Tournament. The Bonesborough karate tournament, is happening on February 6 gives us enough time to prepare." Eda said.

    "Okay if one of my students wins you have to admit that my training is the best way and my star students can keep teasing her but if she wins they'll leave her alone." Philip said as Eda shook her head in disagreement.

     "Not just her but her and her friends, even this one who keeps harassing his ex. Which is why it's gonna be a 5 v 4 instead I'll train her and her friends too make it even whichever one of her friends or her wins and to make it fair none of them can interact with each other until the tournament. Sounds fair? '' Eda said.

    Philip nodded in agreement and so did Eda. Philip then went to begin to train his students. Hunter mouthed to Luz "You're so dead." Hunter mouthed dangerously. As he went back to training. Eda and Luz then left the dojo and as soon as they left she started panicking.

    "What Eda do you have any idea on what you just did!?" Luz said frantically. "Yeah I'm saving your butt kid." Eda said as they walked toward her dinner. "Yeah but bringing my friend's involved in this too." Luz said. "This gives us more chances to stop them so stop worrying." Eda said as she opened her diner.

    "Look kid this is the only way to help you and your friends but this is the best chance we have." Eda said. "How am I gonna train that quick though?" Luz questioned. "You're gonna be able to and you wanna know why?" Eda asked. Luz nodded "Because I'm gonna be your sensei." Eda said.
