Luz the Karate Kid

Chapter 14: Tournament

Two days have passed and it is now the day of the karate tournament. Luz,Gus,Amity and Willow were nervous and anxious during the ride to the tournament but thankfully their parents are gonna be there to cheer them on. Not only that but Willow also invited Skara to see her fight during the tournament.

Now that Luz,Gus,Willow and Amity were at the tournament Eda was waiting in line for the sign ups as Luz,Gus,Amity and Willow who were holding gym bags with there gis in there were left in there thoughts just then a familiar ash blonde in a high ponytail wearing a green hoodie that belonged to her girlfriend wearing black tights and red shoes appeared. "Hey Guys and Babe." Skara said as she waved and hugged Willow. "Thanks for coming, Skara." Luz said. "No problem anything to see my lovely girlfriend in action." Skara said. Just then they saw Eda had finally made it to the sign up table and all five of them went to join her.

"How may I help you?" A light brown man with dark brown bowl cut hair and blue eyes wearing a red karate staff shirt and black pants and brown boots with a name tag that said Steve. "Yes, I'd like to sign up my four students for the karate tournament." Eda said to Steve. "Okay and what are there names and the dojo name there under." He asked. "Luz Noceda, Amity Blight, Gus Porter and Willow Park all under a dojo called The Martial arts House." Eda said as Steve wrote the info down.

"Alright and what belt ranking are they in karate?" Steve asked. "All black belts." Eda said confidently. Steve nodded and wrote it down as he finished writing the info he looked at Eda's four students. "Okay, the tournament is gonna start soon. The locker rooms are down the hall towards the left." He said as he pointed in the direction. Skara nodded and took the lead taking Willow,Luz,Gus and Amity to the locker rooms to change into there gi.

"Alright Gus we'll wait for you outside." Luz said as she,Willow and Amity changed in the women's locker room while Gus changed in the men's locker room. Luz finished changing first and tied the red headband around her head as she was sporting her red and black short sleeve karate gi and black belt around her waist while Willow and Amity were busy tying their black karate belts. "I'll wait for you guys outside and see if Gus is finished." Luz said as she headed out only to be greeted by Hunter and his group wearing their black sleeveless karate gi the only one standing out was Hunter who had a black headband tied around his head.

"Hey look, it's Luzer ready for you and your karate nerds to get owned." Daniel said, pushing her. Just then Willow, Gus and Amity came out of the locker rooms wearing the same thing as Luz except a headband. "Hey back off, we'll settle this in the tournament." Willow said. "Yeah, leave them alone." Skara said. "Shut it, girlfriend stealer." Hunter said, pushing Skara causing Willow to see red pushed Hunter back and roughly into his friends.

"Don't you dare touch my girlfriend." Willow said, helping her and holding Skara close as Hunter got mad since Willow was totally invested in her new relationship and completely forgot about their past relationship. Hunter was about to say a snarky remark but another staff member saw their interactions.

"Hey, save it for the tournament." She said as Hunter snickered then walked away along with his friends following but Matthew stayed behind. "Good luck out there and be aware our dojo likes to use cheat tactics to get further in the tournament." He said as he walked away leaving all five of them confused and nervous. Just then Eda walked up to them. "Alright so the first match is gonna be Luz so let's head over to mat 4." Eda said. They soon entered the tournament room and saw different people from different dojos competing to qualify for the tournament.

As Eda and her students were walking trying to find their mat a staff member stopped them. "Sorry she can't be here, she has to be on the benches." The staff said, pointing to Skara. "Ah well you see I'm a very old helpless lady and can't go anywhere without my assistant." Eda lied to which the staff bought it. "Ah sorry, carry on." The staff said as they continued trying to find the mat "Over there." Skara pointed out as Luz,Gus,Amity, Willow, Skara and Eda walked over toward the mat to see who Luz's opponent was, which was a boy with dark brown hair, blue eyes with a white karate gi and a black belt. Luz also saw her mom,Alador and what looks to be Willow's dads and Gus's dad sitting close to one another to cheer on their kids. Luz waved at her mom before Eda brought Luz back to her thoughts.
