Anastasia's POV
"WEH?!" Iraia immediately reacted after I told her everything.
"Grabe talaga... that was so unexpected," Amaris commented.
"So when we saw your 'fake' dad sa mall dati, bat niya kasama yung mommy ni Tiffany?" Iraia asked.
"He was ordered na samahan ang mommy ni Tiffany sa mall that day para tumulong magdala ng shopping bags," sagot ko sa kanila sabay irap.
Athalia chuckled and both Amaris and Iraia laughed.
Xaven on the other hand got perfect.
Xaven noticed my expression at agad niyang tinignan ang papel ko.
"You know it's okay to make failures, right?" aniya at tumango ako.
Failures are normal.
When I got home, we are eating dinner ng inilahad ko kay Dad ang quiz scores ko. He was surprised to my actions at tinignan ang papel na nakaabot sa kanya. Kinuha niya yun at tinignan.
"Is this your score?" aniya at nakayuko akong tumango.
I gulp.
Maybe he thinks that I fail another test, maybe he's disp-
Imagine she only got two mistakes, damn I could never do that. I'd be either got the lowest score or 15 mistakes," aniya at sabay tawa.
I confusedly looked at him.
"Hindi ka po disappointed?" nagtatakang tanong ko.
"Disappointed? For what? For a simple mistake?" tanong niya at tumango ako.
"My dear, failures and mistakes are normal in life. Look at me, I am not an honor student or an achiever but here I am. One of the riches billionaires in this country. Your score doesn't determine your future, it is on you if you aim your desires or not. Success is your responsibility. Don't let those simple mistakes count your worth, you are more than those. If you get burned it doesn't mean the end sweetheart, you need to stand up and fight again. " aniya.
"I am very proud of you, Anastasia." sabi niya bago hinalikan ang noo ko.
A lone tear escaped from my eye. I didn't imagine that this will ever happened.
Xaven was right all along, that I am more than a test score.
A ghost smile appeared on my face. How funny that I prove and burned myself to the wrong person.
How funny that simple word affect a person's perspective in life. Those words that are said about you, it feels like an echo inside your head, reminding you over and over again as if it depends on your life. Rubbed on your face, heart and soul, slowly it becomes a part on how you see yourself.
It stabs you right in the soul, breaking whatever you are building for yourself. Those words are like monsters inside you, slowly but painfully eating you inside. Worst is, it is inside, no matter how hard you try to forget it, it will always remind you, about those words.
I don't understand why people aren't careful with words. They are aware how much impact it gives but yet they choose to spit it out in you face.
No one will apologize how much their words affect you. Simply they think it was just mere words but those we're deep stabs they didn't realize. Behind those mean words they throw, it was like eggs being fed to you and slowly inside you it became monsters.
