Dating Eddie wasn't much different than being his best friend. He teased and joked like always, only now he followed them up with kisses. Longing gazes became loving stares which everyone around you noticed.
Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye because of how busy school kept you. History and ceramics were your favorite classes for the simple reason that Eddie was in them with you.
Homework piled up, as it does, atop the many other things that returned back to normal. Tuesdays were for Corroded Coffin shows (though you hadn't gone to one again yet) and Fridays for Hellfire. The curly-haired boy took occasional weekends at Thacher Tire, though he was working fewer hours.
Everywhere in between were band practice and drug deals. You tagged along for what you could and spent a good portion of time getting ahead on schoolwork or hanging out with Robin.
Eddie still occupied most of your days and thoughts. You two snuck in make-out sessions in the van, sleepovers, and small adventures anywhere you could. You drove together to school most days too, rotating who was driving week by week.
"You got magic powers waking his grumpy ass up, I swear," Wayne had told you. It was one of the mornings when you arrived at the trailer to find your boyfriend drooling onto his pillow, still fast asleep.
The old man continued to grumble, "When I do it, kid acts like I took his birthday away from him."
Eddie was definitely not a morning person, but he could forgive being woken up if it was your face he was opening his eyes to. The days you did get him up, he tried to convince you to climb under the blankets and skip class. His groggy voice and sleepy eyes almost convinced you.
"Come on, baby," you urged him and tugged on his inked bicep. "It's too soon to start ditching."
"No fair," the boy whined back. His cheek was squished against the flat pillow and his bangs poked into his crinkled eyes. "You know I can't resist when you call me that."
It made you smile, tight-lipped and proud. "Sure do, baby."
Brown sugared eyes peeked open, feigning innocence as they met yours. There was a moment of silence before Eddie drew his hand away from his side and pinched your leg that rest on the bed in front of his face.
"Ouch," you emphasized with a frown. Your painted fingernails found the soft skin of his arm to squeeze.
"Ouch," he mocked your tone.
You stared at him a moment, biting on the inside of your cheek as you debated your next move. He closed his eyes and a smug little smirk formed on his face.
It was a trap, because once you put your guard down Eddie sprung up, rolling onto his side and freeing both his arms to tickle you. He grabbed at your side and the slope of your neck where he knew for a fact you were the most ticklish.
