I am a soul, hurt by everyone,
My heart has been battered and torn,
My trust has been broken and shattered,
Leaving me feeling so forlorn.
The ones I loved have turned their backs,
Their words were cruel and unkind,
Leaving me to pick up the pieces,
Of a heart that they've left behind.
I try to smile and be brave,
But inside, I am so afraid,
That I will never find the love,
That will wash away the pain.
I have been hurt by everyone,
And it's hard to keep the faith,
That there's someone out there for me,
To help me find my place.
But I know that I am strong,
And I will not give up the fight,
For one day, I will find the love,
That will make everything right.
Until then, I'll pick up the pieces,
Of my broken heart and soul,
And I'll keep searching for that one,
Who will make me whole.
For I am a soul, hurt by everyone,
But I will not let that define me,
I will rise above the pain and hurt,
And let love set me free.
