Echoes Of Poetry

The confession

She knew from the start
That he wasn't looking for love
But still she let him steal her heart
And prayed for guidance from above

She confessed her feelings
But he couldn't give her what she sought
Though he loved spending time with her
A relationship was what he fought

He would get angry at small things
And it was getting hard to handle
She tried to understand his emotions
And was willing to let him dandle

But then she found out the truth
That he had a girlfriend all along
And though it broke her heart in two
She tried to stay strong

She loved him still
But he didn't reciprocate
And though it gave her a bitter pill
She accepted her fate

For she knew deep down
That it was time to let go
And though her heart may frown
She knew it was time to grow

So she bid him farewell
And hoped he found what he sought
For she knew she deserved someone
Who loved her with all he's got.
