Chapter 7

When we arrived at the house there weren't any cars in the long driveway. The house was like it always was and three story brick house with a Victorian feeling about it. I had always rode by on my bike when I was younger to admire it. It was my favorite house in the neighborhood, probably because it was the biggest.

Damon led me to the front door. He called out for demitri four times before he shrugged and closed the large oak wood door.

"Well, guess it's just us. Let's talk." he said grabbing my wrist and pulling me to a large red leather couch. He sat down and patted the spot next to him so I plopped down beside him.

"Whats your favorite color?" he asked raising an eyebrow. I laughed at the clichèd question he asked.

"Well I like many colors but my favorites are black, white, and blue." I said.

"What kind of blue?"

"I love light silver blue and the deep blue of dawn. What about you?" I asked.

"Well I don't really like blue. I like black and deep, crimson, red." he said grinning. Those were some strange colors. Red, blood red. The way he said it was what made my skin crawl.

"Well that's nice, they match." I said unsure of the appropriate response. He grinned at me again looking me dead in the eye. His deep blue eyes gleamed and danced with joy, teasingly.

"Yea, matching, that's why I like them." he said rolling his eyes.

"I figured. You seem like a matching person." I said looking him over. His black outfit making his skin look white. That's when I realized his crimson red leather bracelet. So he incorporated the red and black into his clothing? Maybe he did just like it for the matching. But I still felt like they represented something.

"Do you like my bracelet?" he asked probably noticing my thoughtful look.

"Yea. I've never seen a bracelet that color. It's really cool. It matches your black." I said poking his tight stomach.

"I like it, too." he said as he turned it over and showed the string that tightened the bracelet around his wrist. It was braided with crimson red and pitch black string. I picked up his wrist and studied the bracelet closer. On the end of the leather part was a silver snake charm, it's eye were some type of black gem. The bracelet fasinated me.

"Do you want it?" he asked pulling his wrist away and going to take it off.

"No, I couldn't." I said shaking my head.

"But I want you to." he replied taking it off. I shook my head. "Please, think of it as a welcome to the house present." he said as he pulled. The bracelet onto my wrist then tightened it.

"Wow thanks. It's really nice." I couldn't stop lookin at it. It did have a masculine feel but I didn't care because it was so oddly charming. I will never lose this, I thought to myself. Then I looked back up at Damon and smiled brightly at him. Thirty minutes ago when I looked at him I thought he would be an arrogant jerk but he really wasn't.

"Its really nothing, I can probably find another one, maybe it could be a friendship bracelet." he said again making fun of me with his high pitched "girl" voice.

"Yea that would be so awesome, like OMG." I said back making my voice higher and squeekier then I actually was.

"Next question, what's your favorite thing to do?"

"Dance." I reply quickly. "And I write a little, too." I said sheepishly.

"I figured you were a dancer, you have the legs for it. And as for a writer, I want to read something you've wrote." he said. I shook my head. No one ever read what I wrote because i didn't let anyone. "Why the head shake?" he asked.
