Dark Horizons
Chapter nineteen
I lay in bed staring at the ceiling. I wasn't thinking or entending to do anything. Three days ago I died. Damon Telverdi killed me.
I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. I was feeling sick and my throat burned. Demitri and Ian visited me every day trying to convince me to feed. I refused to do it. They said I had to use a human because animals wouldn't work for the tranformation. I wouldn't do it. Damon came in once the first day. He yelled at me, he said it was my duty to the kingdom. I yelled back and he stormed out.
There was a knock on the door that interupted my semi thoughts. I looked up and saw Alex walk in. I smiled. She hast visited me or talked to me since the "incedent."
"Pam. You need to fe-" I cut her off.
"Dont come in here and give me that crap. I haven't talked to you in four fucking days!" I exclaimed. I didn't want to hear it from Alex, too.
"Well, atleast drink this." She said holding up a small glass of a cream colored liquid.
"What is it?" I asked skeptically.
"Just a concoction Isabelle made that should keep you around until you change your mind." she said walking over to me and handing me the glass. I sniffed it, it had no scent. I smiled at her. She was the first person who left the blood thing alone after I asked. I lifted the glass up and downed it quickly, just in case it tasted badly.
"Ian!" Alex called. I gave her a questioning look as Ian appeared. There was a tall boy following him. I was even more confused.
"What is going on?" I asked.
"Dont hate us. What Alex just gave you...it's gonna make you do whatever we say. It's like a compulsion potion for vampires or transitioning." he stated. I felt my face drop. I didn't think my friend would do this to me. Ian came over to my side of the bed and looked me straight in the face.
"You are going to drink from this boy. He is willing. Alex and I are leaving. I will be back in ten minutes and you better have done it by then." He said staring at me intently. As much as I wanted to look away, I couldn't. His grey eyes were enticing and increasingly more beautiful by the second.
"Ian I-" He cut me off by putting a finger over my mouth.
"No talking. Just listen to me and do as I say." He commanded. I nodded slowly. He smiled at me and then walked out taking Alex with him. The boy stood in the center of the room looking confused.
"Come here." I snarled. My mind was telling me not to do it but something was making me. I felt like I had to or I would explode. The boy looked at me and then walked over.
"Whats your name?" I asked.
"Jake." He replied, curtly. I nodded and patted the spot next to me for him to sit down. He obliged.
"Do you know what's gonna happen, Jake?" I asked. I felt terrible. He nodded.
"I am so sorry, they are makin me do this." I mumbled. He smiled at me and tilted his head revealing his neck. I could see his bluish veins sticking out and leaned over.
All of the sudden my mouth exploded in pain. I ran my tongue across my teeth to male sure nothing was bleeding. I was surprised when I cut myself on something sharp. Jake looked at me expectantly. So, I leaned in again and this time I bit.
Ian came in a little while later and smiled at me. I was sobbing again. Jake was laying at the foot of the bed bleeding.
"I hate you!" I exclaimed as he walked over to me. He chuckled. "This isn't a laughing matter." I stated. I couldn't believe he had forced me to do that, my best friend.
