Chapter 9

I awoke in a normal looking teen bedroom. Well normal except for the exceptionally nice looking guy hanging over my head. Oh yea, Ian, he was gonna take some getting used to. I stared into his grey eyes. They were so full of depth I felt like I was seeing into him. Sorrow and anger, and passion?

"Thank god your ok. I would have been killed..." he trailed off and moved to sit at the foot of a rather small bed with deep blue covers. The room itself was rather tiny, the walls were cream and bare. There was a window on one wall, a computer in one corner, a dresser opposite the window and a small bookshelf across from the bed. The room didn't have much character but I felt safe.

"Whats going on?" I demanded trying to sit up but becoming over whelmed with dizzyness as Ian pushed me back down.

"I don't have the authority to tell you much. What do you know?" he asked.

"Damon and Demitri are vampires, there are rules, they drink blood and have powers, and they don't like you." I say slowly as I count everything off on my fingers.

"You don't know much. Well I can tell you about me." he said.

"Its a start." I replied.

"Im a vampire hunter. When I went to boarding school I was really training, that's how I came to be the hotty you see today." he said wigglying his eyesbrows at me and attmepting to wink. He still couldn't wink. That made me laugh. Then the situation caught up with me again.

"Is that all you can tell me?" I asked serious yet again.

"You've become to solem." Ian stated.

"I feel like the fact that creatures of the night exist is a serious topic." I snapped at him. I didn't like how he seemed to be taking this as a joke.

"Well there isn't much I can say. Vampires have more power then I do. It wasn't my family that sent me away, it was Damons." Ian said, he was also growing serious.

"Why did they do that?" I asked raising myself onto my elbow.

"Because they know you trust me and they needed someone you trusted for this." he said eyeing me over in a protective way.

"So are you like my protector?" I inquired.

"I guess you could say that. The thing is most protectors are allowed to be with the person they are protecting. There are so many rules that keep me seperated from you it's not even funny." he said sadly.

"That doesn't make sense, why make it someone I trust if I can't see them? And why are they seperating us?" I asked. It was confusing and wrong.

"Theres only so much I can tell you. Most of the rules say I can not interact with you and some other stuff but there are a few that say, if you need me for protection or don't feel safe, I can come for you. As for the seperating us thing, well let's just say they have plans for you." the way he said it made my skin crawl.

"When do I have to go back?" I asked. The question had been in the back of my mind since we started talking.

"When you feel safe again." he said staring at the blank walk behind my head.

"What if I never feel safe again?" I asked. Because I didn't think I ever really would, I didn't even know why I was there.

"You have to be reasonable, they will come and get you after awhile." he said seeming sad.

"Can we run?" I offered hopefully.

"How do you not realize this situation, vampires. They would find you." he replied with a bit of agravation in his tone.
