Chapter 42: The Blunt Truth

Hinata cheered on her cat, Mochi, as she gave birth to her kittens. She watched intently, offering words of encouragement as Mochi went through the labor. Sasuke stood by her side, observing the process with interest.

"Come on, push, Mochi! You've got this!" Hinata said, her eyes fixed on her furry friend. Mochi mewed softly, and Hinata gently held the cat's paw, providing comfort and support.

Sasuke couldn't help but be impressed by Hinata's compassion and empathy towards animals. It was one of the many qualities that had drawn him to her in the first place. He watched as she reassured Mochi, her face filled with a mix of concern and excitement.

After a few more moments of anticipation, the last kitten was born, and Hinata let out a sigh of relief. She looked up at Sasuke with a beaming smile.

"We're grandparents!" she exclaimed, throwing her arms around Sasuke in a tight hug. He chuckled at her enthusiasm, returning the embrace.

"Looks like it," he replied, a fondness in his voice as he held her. He was grateful for these moments with Hinata, the ones that showed her caring and nurturing nature, and it made him cherish their relationship even more.

As they admired the newly born kittens and their proud mother, Hinata and Sasuke exchanged affectionate glances. It was a special moment, one that brought them even closer together. Hinata gently stroked the soft fur of one of the kittens, her heart swelling with warmth.

"They're so precious," she whispered, her eyes glowing with adoration.

Sasuke nodded, his usually stoic expression softening as he observed the scene. He couldn't help but be captivated by Hinata.

"They are," he agreed, his hand finding its way to Hinata's back, giving her a comforting rub.

Hinata looked up at Sasuke, her gaze full of gratitude. "Thank you for being here with me," she said softly. "I'm so glad you could share this moment with me."

Sasuke's lips curved into a small, genuine smile. "Of course," he replied. They sat there in companionable silence, watching Mochi and her kittens, their hearts swelling with warmth and affection.

"I can't believe it's already been 2 months," Hinata said with amazement as she watched Sakura playfully interact with one of the adorable kittens. They had grown so quickly, and their playful antics brought endless joy to Hinata and Sakura.

Sakura couldn't help but squeal with delight as she noticed the little black heart marking on one of the kittens. "Oh my gosh, this one is too cute!" she exclaimed, gently picking it up and cradling it in her arms.

Hinata smiled, her heart warmed by the sight of her friend's excitement. "Do you want one? When they're older, of course," she offered.

Sakura's eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "Oh, yes, definitely!" she replied without hesitation. "I would love to have one of these adorable kittens as a pet."

Hinata chuckled at Sakura's eagerness. "Well, you can take your pick when they're old enough," she said, watching as the kitten in Sakura's arms pawed at her hand with tiny, playful swipes.

Sakura's grin widened as she eagerly imagined herself with a new furry friend. "I can't wait!" she exclaimed, her excitement contagious. However, her curiosity got the best of her, and she looked up at Hinata with a questioning gaze. "Where's Sasuke? I feel like you guys have been inseparable," she asked.

Hinata sighed, her expression softening. "He went to hang out with Naruto. He's going to ask Naruto if he would also like a cat," she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of longing.
