"I can't believe I'm doing this." You shook your head with a laugh as Swiss swung the heavy western trail saddle up onto Renegade's back.

"You'll be fine! You couldn't get this old mare to buck at a horse fly, seriously. She'll take good care of you!" Swiss said, doing the cinch up. You watched him slip the hackamore over her head and tightened the throat latch.

"Okay, lead her to the arena." He said, handing you the reins. You nervously took the reins and lead her away from the hitching post and towards the arena. Swiss had went back in the barn to get Rooster. Swiss slipped the bridle on then lead him out behind you and Renegade.

"Where's your saddle?" You asked as you opened the gate to the arena.

"I don't want to ride in one right now." He shrugged, leading Rooster into the arena.

"Now, let me help you mount and explain some stuff." He said, coming over to you.

"Put your foot in the stirrup and swing up." He said, holding the stirrup out for you. You grunted, grabbing the saddle horn and cantle. Swiss grabbed your thigh, pushing you up and helping you settle into the saddle.

"Okay now," He said, grabbing your foot. "Keep your heels down. Try not to keep them too far in the stirrups either. But this is why I bought you these boots. They will keep your foot from going to far out of the stirrup." He said, walking around the other side of you and making sure your other foot was in correctly.

"And with the reins, don't yank on them. I didn't give you a bit so you won't hurt her real bad, but even so, act like she does have a bit in. Don't yank on her or keep a very tight rein." He said, watching you softly clutch the reins in hand. "And if you need her to stop on a dime, sit back deep in the saddle and pull back on the reins, and to get her moving give her little taps with your heels and click. She doesn't move much without spurs, so you'll be fine." He said, stepping back and giving for an encouraging smile. You gave her a small nudge with your foot, smiling as she broke into a slow walk.

"There you go!" He said. He grabbed Rooster's reins and mane in one hand, standing by his face before taking a short run and leaping onto his back. Swiss rode up beside you, keeping a tight rein on Rooster.

"He wants to run, but I won't let him." Swiss said, watching Rooster try to prance about. You giggled, watching Swiss trot off on Rooster. He gave him some more rein and the horse broke into a steady canter. Swiss sat deep on his back, matching his movements with Rooster's strides.  You gapped as you saw them heading straight for a low jump. You heart raced as you watches them sail over it with easy, Swiss smiling proudly as he came up and stopped Rooster, the geldings back feet dragging in the dirt.

"Oh my gosh, that was amazing!" You cheered, watching Swiss blush.

"Oh that was nothing. Really. It was a low jump." He shrugged.

"Better then I could do!" You smiled.

"Do you like it?" Swiss asked, holding Rooster back at the lazy pace.

"Yea, I do like it." You nodded with a smile. Swiss intertwined his hand with yours before leaning in and giving you a soft kiss. You giggled with a blush as he pulled away, making him laugh.

"You look so adorable when you get all flustered." He commented, making you blush a deeper shade of red.
