"Oh Pleeeeeaaassseee!" Kathy begs for the 20th time since I walked into work this morning. Bottom lip pouted, hands palm to palm as if she's praying and seriously sad eyes along with it. She's honestly making this very fucking difficult but I can't. I haven't been out drinking with friends in years, and I'm talking before I had Bailey so a lot of fucking years. What would I even wear? What if her other friends don't like me? What if I get drunk and make a fool of myself? What if-
"Stop overthinking it and just say yes, will you!" She pleads from across the desk. I roll my eyes at her and look back at my computer screen. Maybe if I pretend she's not there, she'll just disappear.
"Me and you will go to dinner then we'll meet some of my friends at a bar after. It's no big deal, really casual, I swear"
After a couple more minutes I relent and sigh out an "okay."

Clapping her hands together, Kathy squeals in excitement. I can't help but roll my eyes at her again, this time with a chuckle. "Calm down before you wet yourself woman!" I tease. She stops abruptly and whisper shouts, "that was one time!" I laugh again and hold my hands up in mock surrender.
"Where are you planning on taking me anyways?"

"There's this really nice Thai restaurant in Hampstead so we'll probably go there and then to a bar for a few cocktails after?"

"Okay, sounds good. I have a friend who lives near there, we've probably had takeout from that place before." I nod in agreement. "Ooh actually, I'll ask if I can stay at theirs, will save me a cab fair and I can just get the train home in the morning!" Smiling to myself at my wonderful idea, I make a mental note to text Harry and ask him later.
Clapping her hands together once more, obviously delighted that I'm now onboard with her plans, Kathy gives me two thumbs up before turning her body towards her computer and actually making a start on her work for the day.
Meanwhile, a million and one thoughts are back and buzzing around my brain. I need my bestie. I miss him already.

Harry's been gone a week already. We've spoken almost every day but it's difficult with the time difference and how busy he's been. He's had one of the many meetings that were scheduled for when he got to LA and said it went really well, so that's awesome. Shaun has been in touch every day too, which is new. I'm sure Harry just asked him to check up on me or something silly, that's the only logical reason I can think as to why he's so communicative all of a sudden. Not that I'm complaining. That guy has a special place in my heart. He's so rough and ready on the outside, always looks mega intimidating but he's nothing but a big teddy bear. I mean, I wouldn't want to see what happens when someone pisses him off but to me and Harry, he's actually quite a big softie. It's been nice to have someone else to talk to too. Sometimes I think I'm just a bother to Harry, especially while he's so busy, so I try to keep the messages to a minimum and leave the ball in his court as to when we speak. Now I've got Kathy who, after knowing each other for almost a year, since she started working here, has decided she wants to be friends too. It's weird but I shouldn't complain.

Today is Wednesday so I was sure to send my regular weekly "Happy Hump Day!" message to Harry this morning. Friday is the last day of term and the girls leave for Spain on Saturday morning. I was hoping to have a week with them before they left but mum conveniently booked their flights for the very next day after term ends so that plan flew out the window. They're home a week before they start back at school so at least I'll get that time with them to go out and do all the pre school shopping. New uniforms, new shoes, new stationary. We love it.

I'm trying so hard not to panic about them going away for so long. I've already packed the majority of their clothes, just a few bits like toiletries and sun cream to go in and they're all set. They're so excited, I don't want to take that away from them so I just keep my feelings to myself, I can't be selfish. I know they're going to have an amazing time.
