Its just a dream, right?

Ramdam ko ang panginginig ng kamay ko habang sinusubukan ko i-proseso ang mga nangyayari.

My husband is a mafia boss? Hindi, hindi maaari! I refuse to believe. I know my husband more than anyone. My husband is a victim of this agony!

Bigla bumukas ang pinto, at niluwa nito ang hinihingal na si Keighn. He's  holding a gun in his right hand and his eyes were bloodshot.

"How desperate Mr. Nantes," hatred evident in his voice.

Atty. Nantes laughed without any humor. "Your brother, married a lawyer to use her in the future. I'm here to save her from distress. Your organization killed my sister along with innocent people who want to expose your family's shit! Atty. Papuran, your husband is a notorious criminal, would you still want to be his wife?" puno ng galit niyang tanong.

I want to shout in frustration. Bakit bigla naging sobrang gulo ng buhay ko? Atty. Nantes is one of my respected lawyers in the country, that's why I choose his law firm.

Marahas na inilapag ni Keighn ang iilan dokumento na inabot sa kanya ng tauhan niya na nasa likuran niya.

"I, Keighn Moon Roccero, a prosecutor who working under government - ordering to arrest Atty. Nantes for framing up Doctor Nico Roccero of crimes that he didn't commit," he said full of authority.

Ang mga tauhan niya ay agad nagsilabasan sa likuran niya at sapilitan isinama si Atty. Nantes.

"Call the Team A, to clean this mess," Keighn order his one subordinate referring to the dead body of my supposed client.

"Ano'ng mangyayari?" I desperately asked while holding my tears.

Pilit ko pinapatatag ang aking boses at ang aking sarili habang naghahanap ng kasagutan sa aking katanungan.

Keighn smiled warmly as he passed the document he was holding. "He framed up my brother and accused him in the crime that he didn't commit. He holding grudges to my brother since he become a lawyer. This are the evidence proving about my brother's innocence. My brother is very scared right now that you'll leave him so be there for him. He may be strong but he have a weak spot for you. Don't break his heart because of accusation. My brother is innocent. He can't do such thing," puno ng awa niyang sabi para sa kapatid niya.

You can see in his eyes how genuinely care for his brother.

Agad niya pinunasan ang kanyang mata ng may luhang naglandas dito. "My parents died when I'm just a toddler. My older brother work abroad to support us financially but after a year he cut his connection to us. Kuya Nico, raised me and sacrifices his study for 2 years. He work even the things he don't want just to raise me. He sacrificed himself for me and prove himself to be worthy of respect in our clan. Ioanna, my brother suffered a lot. I don't want him to dwell in agony."

Ngayon napagtanto ko na hindi ko pa ganun kakilala ang asawa ko. I felt sorry for him. "Where is he?"

"He's in your house, waiting for his wife to return in his arms."

I tried to compose myself and get my things but before I left he said something.

"Pero oras na bumalik ka sa kanya, hindi ka niya pakakawalan kahit anong mangyari at sa kahit anong dahilan." he warned me.

I smiled to him. "He's my husband, he's my responsibility and I will always choose him. His safety is my top priority."

Dali-dali ko iniwan ang kompanya na minsan ko pinangarap na pagsilbihan ko habang tumanda ako.

I don't know what future may hold, but I know that my husband will always be there for me, as I protect him.

May mga bagay na hinihiling natin na sana hindi na lang natin nakita o narinig, mga katotohanan na may pait at sakit. Normal lang sa atin na takpan ang ating mata o tainga para hindi masaktan.

I'm not just a lawyer, I'm also a wife and my husband needs me.

Nang makarating ako sa bahay ay agad ako tinahak ang kwarto namin. I saw my husband in our room, drunk and crying.

I felt my body shattering as I saw my husband crying in corner. Nagkalat ang mga papeles sa harapan niya at ilang alak na naubos na niya. Nasa isang sulok lang habang paulit-ulit na tinitingnan ang kanyang cellphone.

Lumapit ako sa kanya. At nang mapansin niya ako ay hindi siya makapaniwalang tinitigan ako. Lumuhod ko sa harapan niya hanggang sa magkapantay kami. Agad ko siyang niyakap.

He cried out loud and hug me tightly. "W-Wife, thank you for coming back."

"I will always come back to you." that's a promise.

"I thought no one can hurt me after I endure those battles. But I'm wrong, wife. I found out, I'm still a kid who longing for acceptance and assurance.
Don't leave me. You won't, I'll make sure of it." he tighten his hold on me.

I let him cried in my arms until he calmed down.

Nang kumalma na siya ay niyaya ko na siya sa kama namin. I laid him down to our bed and fix his mess hair. Akmang aalis ako para linisin ang bote ng mga alak ay hinila niya ang kamay ko. "D-Don't leave me," he begged. Namumungay ang kanyang mga mata habang tinititigan ako. "Should I impregnate you? I want a assurance that you won't leave me."

Agad ko hinampas ang kanyang braso.

"That's brutal," he laughed.

I glared at him. He pinched my nose. "I'm under your law. Kahit gahasain mo at yurakan ang aking pagkalalaki at hindi ako iimik,"

Mas lalo ko idiniin ang ang paghahampas sa kanya.

"Kainis," I whispered.

Hinila niya ang aking kamay at kinulong sa kanyang bisig. "Wife, you can't run and hide from me. I assure you that,"

I smiled. This is a long and tough day for us. Pero sa dulo, kami parin ang uwian ng isat isa.

Paano ako susukuan at iiwan ang asawa ko kung kahit kailan hindi niya ako sinukuan?

"Why are you saving me?" I asked him. I only met him twice and that's when I'm in my lowest point.

Ramdam ako ang panginginig ng aking buong katawan. Basang-basa ako sa ulan.

"I will let you achieve your dreams if that's the only way you can forgive yourself but promise me one thing," sa kabila ng suporta niya ay randam ko ang takot sa kanyang abong mata.

"A marriage?" I asked back.

He laughed. "Silly, that's a bonus." namumula ang kanyang pisngi habang pinagmamasdan ako.

"Eh, ano?"

"Promise me that if you find out my secret, you won't leave me. You will hear my side first. But if its too dangerous to stay, save yourself and leave me. It's not my plan to love you but I'm badly smitten. You're my biggest obsession."

Onwards that day, I vow myself that I'm Atty. Ioanna Papuran - Roccero will protect my husband at all cost.
