I had left Charlie cuddling with his monkey Mack while cartoons were on the tv in his hospital room. Addison walked down the hallway.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey. How was Charlie last night?" Addison asked. She went home with Harry seeing as I was supposed to be on call last night anyway.

"He woke when the nurse came to give him meds but he's alright. He's watching tv with Mack. Robbins said depending on if she can get him to eat he can come home tonight," I said. "Was Harry alright?"

"He was worried about Charlie so he slept with me last night. Apparently, I had a better sleep than you," Addison said.

"I couldn't sleep but I made a big dent in that neonatal and fetal surgery book you gave me. I did write down some questions about things. I'll rack your brain later," I said.

"I look forward to it," Addison said as my pager went off. Addison kissed my cheek.

"I love you," I said.

"I love you too," Addison said before I ran off. I ran to the pit, and tied a trauma gown around me, and grabbed gloves as medics pushed a patient through the doors relaying information to Alex, George and Callie.

"David Simons, 22. He was in the driver's seat. His car got crushed by a semi. Truck blew a tire and jackknifed across four lanes of traffic," The medic said.

"Okay, take him to bay one until we get a trauma room ready," Callie said. George and Alex dealt with him. Another patient came in.

"Becca Wells, 21-year-old restrained backseat passenger. Vitals stable en route. Some shortness of breath, but good breath sounds," The second medic said.

"Okay, take her to bay two for now," Callie said. Another patient came in.

"22-year-old front seat passenger. Tenderness above the pelvis and unstable BP in the field," The third medic said.

"Uh, bay five," Callie said. The three patients started talking to each other revealing there were more passengers.

"Eight of them piled in an SUV? Are they all this bad?" Callie asked the medic

"These are the healthy ones compared to the rest," The third medic said.

"Okay, uh, I need, uh, beds and blood and interns, and ... and Owen Hunt. Where is Hunt?" Callie asked. The first patient began to flatline.

"V-Tach. BP's dropped out. I need the crash cart. I'm gonna cardiovert," George yelled.

"David! What's wrong with him?" Becca asked.

"Charge to 100," George yelled. "Clear,"

"David! Becca, what's wrong with David?" Jordan asked.

"You have to save him, please. You can't let him die. Not today. We're supposed to be graduating from college today," Becca said.

"Okay, charge to 200. Clear," George said. I was waiting on the others from the car crash to come in so I was clearing all the minor injuries. Torres began yelling at ER doctors.

"I got it, Torres," I said before turning to two ER doctors. "Put that patient in the hallway. Keep all access and exit ways clear people," The interns walked in. "You three bed 2, bed 9 and bed 15,"

Timeskip

I walked over to help George with one of his patients.

"Okay, X-ray is really backed up, but ... Hey, that ... that's Pete," Lexie said walking over.

"What?" I asked.

"David's friend, Pete. The ... the red sneakers," Lexie said.

"Could you get over here and help me? He's bleeding through the dressing on the chest wound," George said. Lexie moved over to help George.
