I was walking down. George ran over holding two gift bags

"Sage, have you got a minute?" George asked.

"Sure," I said.

"These are for Charlie and Harry. For their birthday," George said handing me the bags.

"Their birthday isn't until next month. And you didn't have to do this," I said.

"I know. I wanted to. You're like a big sister to me and I look up to you. I need to tell you something," George said.

"George. What's going on?" I asked.

"I gave you the boys' presents now because I joined the army to be a trauma surgeon. I report for duty tomorrow," George said.

"Congratulations," I said.

I was on trauma service with Hunt. I was waiting with Callie for an ambulance to come in. The medics unloaded a patient who was covered in blood.

"Dude," Callie said.

"Unidentified male, dragged by a bus. He's clamped down, so we couldn't intubate," The medic said. Meredith and Hunt had come out. Hunt grabbed the paperwork.

"Didn't they stop when they hit him?" Meredith asked.

"Bus driver didn't know he was there until he got halfway down the block," The medic said as we wheeled him inside a trauma room.

"Okay, I'll take over C. P. R," Callie said to the medic.

"Push 20 etomidate and 100 of sux," Hunt said.

"He saved my life. The bus was gonna hit me. He threw me out of the way," The woman that arrived with our patient said.

"Grey, get her out of here," I said to Lexie.

"It was supposed to be me under the bus. He's all alone. They don't even know who he is. Please," The woman said.

"All right, stand over there and just don't move," Lexie said.

"He's back," Meredith said looking at the monitors.

"Okay, let's get a trauma series, trauma labs and o-neg blood in here," Callie said.

"Severe avulsion injury to the left forearm," I told Callie. Meredith pulled the gauze covering his face off.

"Whoa," Meredith said.

"Okay, his skull is bashed in. Page Shepherd," Hunt said.

"And Sloan," Callie said.

"Start antibiotics and start cleaning out those wounds," Hunt said as I heard the sound of the woman vomiting.

"Now can you get her out of here?" Callie asked Lexie.

"Someone get the lieutenant a basin," Hunt yelled. I was handed a basin. I threw up while pushing antibiotics. I wiped my mouth and the nurse took the basin away.

"Thank you," I said.

"You good?" Hunt asked.

"Yes sir," I said.

Callie, Meredith, Hunt, myself and some of the ER doctors and nurses were working on the patient when Mark walked in.

"Whoa," Mark said.

"Man versus bus," Callie said.

"The bus won," Mark commented.

"Check out the left arm," Callie said showing Mark the arm under the gauze. Monitors started beating.

"He's crashing again!" I yelled starting compressions.
