48 hours later:

"Lieutenant Riley and Sergeant Russ, we will now begin the landing process." The pilot announced over the microphone.

I looked at Simon and his eyes were already looking at me, he had his mask on...I'll miss seeing his face without a mask....

I gave him a smile to let him know I was okay.

The helicopter landed and we started to get off together with our bundles.

"Guys, how are you?" Price greeted us.

"Price!" I gave him a big hug which he also gave me with a smile.

Price patted Simon on his shoulder- "son, welcome back." Price told him with a smile.

"It feels good to be back, sir." Simon told him.

"Well, come on." Price told us with a smile.

We started walking toward the buildings on the base, to be more specific, toward our unit's building. Price told us to leave our belongings in our rooms and go down to the briefing room where the others were already.

Simon and I did not sleep in the same room while on base. My roommate is Farah while Simon's roommate is everyone else. The guys only have a single room full of barracks.

As I set my bags down on top of my bed, I could tell that Farah had already arranged everything by herself.

I went down to the meeting room and heard Soap's loud voice annoying Simon.

"Dude, those shoes are from 4 seasons ago." Soap said laughing and making fun of Simon's shoes.

"Shut up Johnny." Simon told him.
Soap couldn't stop laughing.

"You're going to start making life miserable for him? Your wife had you on time out for the whole vacation break?" I asked with a chuckle as I took a seat next to Farah.

"Well well well, if it isn't Miss Riley." Soap said laughing.

"How are you?" I asked laughing.

"Happy to be back, but not by much." Soap said laughing.

The doors opened and Price walked in. We all settled in and waited for him to start talking.

The meeting lasted about 2 hours, in which we talked about the situation that was going on in Russia and many other parts of the world. He also informed us that we were going to have a mission the next morning.

So that's why...that's why we were all called in such an emergency.

When we left the meeting room we all went to dinner to get ready and go to sleep, we were going to have a very busy morning.

While we were eating we were all catching up on how our vacation went, where we went and what we did. Although we all live very close to each other but we used this vacation to be with families.

After lunch, I went to the bathroom and got ready for bed as did Farah.

"Hey, I'll see you in the room, I have to go to Simon's." I said to Farah as we were walking to our room.

"Sure." Farah agreed and kept walking towards her destination.

I turned around and started walking towards the boys' barracks. I knocked on the door- "It's Kaia!" I yelled to let the boys know.

I opened the door and they were all already looking towards the door.

"Hi! Where's Simon?" I asked as Simon's bed was empty.

"He's talking to Price." Gaz informed me.

"Oh! Well Thank you, good night!" I told them with a smile.
