The drive to the base to take our first flight to get to our base was completely silent. Much like going home.

Only this time I was the one driving.

Upon arriving at the base, we spent 5 minutes waiting to catch the next military flight to the special forces base.

During the whole flight, we remained silent. But sitting next to each other. In silence.

The only thing we said to each other during all this time was 'good morning' when we woke up, nothing else.

Maybe we both want to say something to each other but we are so alike that neither of us wants to speak first.

As I felt the plane landing on the runway at the base, I touched Ghost's knee lightly and quickly to notify him that we had arrived. He had been sleeping during the flight or pretending to be asleep.

As the plane came to a stop and the hatches began to open, we both got up from our seats and grabbed our bags. There were more soldiers on the plane, as well as heavy cargo.

We both got out and saw Soap and Gaz waiting for us.

"Look who finally arrived. Did y'all suckers forgot we have a job?" Soap said laughing.

"MacTavish." I said giving him a smile.

Soap opened his arms and hugged me tightly just like Gaz did too. They just fisted Ghost who was still silent. Like his usual persona.

"Price is waiting for us. Good news apparently." Gaz said as we all got on the wagon that Soap and Gaz were riding.

"I hope it's good news, I was at home resting what I've never been able to do, for nothing because it was two miserable days only." Soap said.

His voice was high and loud as always.

"Tell me about it. I was just getting used to being home." I said as I looked out the windows.

"Yeah? Lots of sex?" Soap asked with a chuckle. Gaz chuckled a little too.

"Ahh? LT, you're awfully quiet. Anything you want to share?" Soap asked again, laughing.

I couldn't hold myself and laugh a little. Soap knew how to keep the mood light with his silliness.

"Shut up, Johnny." Ghost said.

"Party pooper , I think you need more vacation. You're old and bitter." Soap said.

"Or retirement." Gaz said laughing.

I looked at Ghost and he just rolled his eyes ignoring them completely.

I really wanted to talk to him but I don't know how to start the conversation although I also felt something inside me that compelled me to leave everything behind and wait for him to be the first to talk to me.

After leaving our belongings in our rooms, we all went to the meeting room. I sat next to Farah and Soap while Ghost just sat quietly in the corner.

Laswell, Price and the STALKER TEAM entered the room. My brother was there...

"Thank you all for attending and getting back to base so quickly. We'll start with the first thing..." Laswell began to say.

"Sergeant Kaia Russ, I congratulate you on your record. You passed your specialty exam being number 1 for the 4th time. Given your judgment and your excellent score, you were fully validated. You may return to your activities as a sergeant. Congratulations." Laswell said to me.

Everyone in the meeting room began to applaud me with smiles on their faces. Farah grabbed my arm giving me congratulations and Soap gave me a few pats on my back.
