Ghost's POV:
I watched as you stormed out of the room, knocking the door shut behind you. I shook my head, trying to regain my composure.
Bloody hell... should I go running behind you or should I just stood here waiting for Price's new order?
"Riley, can you go talk to her?" Laswell asked me.
I just nodded my head in agreement and walked out of the office.
I catch up to Kaia in the hallway, my voice calm but firm- "Kaia, we need to talk. I know you're upset, but we can't let this affect the team. We have a mission to focus on."
I pause for a moment, searching her face for any sign that she was indeed listening to me.
"Kaia, I understand your concerns about Pavia, but we have to give her a chance. This isn't about us or our personal feelings... it's about what's best for the team." I told her again.
We saw some soldiers looking at us on the hallway, Kaia took my hand hand and lead me into a empty meeting room. The light was off so the only light came from the see thru windows of the room but the office curtains were almost closed, basically the only thing that anyone could see was our ankles.
We both stood in silence staring at each other...my hand was still in hers...I couldn't help thinking about how we were a month ago...
I felt the warmth of her hand in mine... it felt familiar, comforting. Even though I knew she was angry, I couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. I didn't want to let go. I wanted to hold on to that feeling forever.
I wanted to kiss her, hug her and tell her everything I've been holding back all this time...but, it wouldn't be the right thing to do.
Not now that she doesn't remember me.
Kaia cleared her throat and let my hand go.
as soon she cleared her throat, I realized we had to focus on the issue at hand. I stood there, looking at her, waiting for her to speak.
"Why you didn't tell me who she was when I talked with you this morning on your office? I mean- I'm your wife right? Why you kept her identity confidential?" She asked me.
I took a deep breath, realizing I couldn't avoid this conversation any longer. I spoke with honesty, trying to explain to her why I had kept Liliana's identity a secret.
" Kaia, I know I should have told you sooner about Liliana... but I wasn't sure how you would react. I didn't want to hurt you... and I wanted to give you time to adjust to everything that's happened." I told her.
I paused for a moment.
"You have to understand that your amnesia was a shock for everyone... for me too... and I felt like I had to protect you from any additional stress." I told her again.
"Greatttt so you're going to keep pulling the 'amnesia' card for every single mistake you do?" She told me while rolling her eyes.
My voice remained calm, trying to deescalate the conversation.
"Kaia, it's not just an 'amnesia card'. You have to understand that your amnesia has changed things between us... it's made us question everything." I tried to explain myself.
I paused, trying to find the right words.
"I know it's not easy for you to deal with... but you need to realize that there are things I can't tell you right now because I don't want to hurt you... or upset you." I told her again.
"Made us question everything? What is making you question everything? Tell me." Kaia asked me while widening her eyes.
"Kaia, it's made me question our relationship. I know that sounds harsh... but you have to understand that you don't remember anything about our life together, and this has made me doubt if our relationship was as strong as I thought it was... if you were the person I thought you were." I tried to explain.
