Simon's pov:

I didn't even question Price's final decision. I trusted him implicitly. And I was also aware of Kaia's situation... it was logical to take her out of that role right now. She was not ready. But I couldn't let my feelings get mixed up with this decision...

I had made up my mind, whatever the position, I needed to be neutral, until she could recover her memories. Even if the position was uncomfortable for her or me, I have to give her the chance to recover it naturally. I can't force her.

And I can't keep mixing up work with her situation.

{ 2 days later }

Price had sent me the email with Laswell's highly recommended candidates. There were only three soldiers. 2 men and 1 woman.

I started going through the files, reviewing their records. One of the guys wasn't up to it and the other one was too controversial. Only one was left... the female sergeant. I looked at her file, with the intention of doing an initial interview.

We needed to interview them before putting them into a job and responsibility such as being the sergeant in charge of planning military strategies to task force 141.

I kept reading the sergeant's file over and over again. I couldn't let anything go by that was counter time.

But to be honest, She was perfect for the job. 4 years of experience in her expertise in Iraq and 2 years of experience in the secret service of the White House. She was a really great candidate.

My initial perception of the files was correct, it was a great candidate. After analyzing it, she was the most qualified of all and had plenty of field experience, especially in the Middle East. It was a plus since most of ours missions took place there. I sent an email to Price confirming which candidate I approved for an interview.

It didn't take Price an hour to get back to me. For him, she was also the one. She was very experienced and had more than 10 letters of recommendation, but the one that carried the most weight was the letter of recommendation from the President of the United States. The girl was a goddamn star in the White House.

Price made an appointment to interview her in two hours but he could not attend because he had several meetings with the generals and commanders. So...I got to be the one to interview her.

I hate this, I hate interacting with people.

Hours passed and she was already waiting for me in one of the meeting rooms. Gaz, Soap, Kaia and Farah were like eagles trying to see into the room.

I took a sigh before going in. As I entered the briefing room, the sergeant stood up and gave me a smile.

"Sergeant Pavia." The girl shook her hand to greet me.

I took her hand-"Lieutenant Riley. Take a seat." With that I walked to the other side of the table to sit down and face each other.

Pavia took a seat.
I opened her file to begin with the questions I had marked in highlighter on her file.

"Your civilian name is Liliana Pavia?" I asked.

"Yes that's right sir." Liliana answered me.

Liliana had a long blonde hair but at the moment she was wearing a donut with her hair highly styled very professionally. Her eyes were honey colored and she was always smiling...signifying that she is a very charismatic person.

"I understand you were in service for 4 years in Iraq, what was your position?" i asked looking at her straight in the eyes.

"I spent 4 years in Iraq as a tactical operations and military strategic planning sergeant." Liliana answered me.
